Crafts and Me Challenges - Use Something Yellow

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday :)

Today our new challenge over at Crafts and Me Challenges is starting. Teresa is the hostess for this week and she wants to see something YELLOW on your card / project :)

Boy this was REALLY a personal challenge for me.. I'm not so much into yellow, because I tend to go too funky and shrill when using bright colors like yellow... but I think (well at least I HOPE SO *lol*) that I managed to do a 'pretty' card this time ;-)))

For my card I used the 'Glacier Lily Fairy' stamp designed by Hannah Lynn for Crafts and Me
I also used a digi paper from a kit by Mari Koegelenberg (My Digital Art Studio) and of course I couldn't resist to use my Silhouette SD machine again ... ( I really don't know how I could ever craft without this wonderful tool before *lol*)

Here's an additional close-up of the stamped and colored Glacier Lily Fairy image
(I added a little bit of sparkle to the wings, but unfortunately it is not showing in the picture)

challenges:

card recipe:
  • stamp - Glacier Lily Fairy by Hannah Lynn for Crafts and Me
  • color medium - Tombow Dual Brush pens
  • design papers - Summer Days - Noon Picnic Paper Pack by Mari Koegelenberg
  • tools - Silhouette SD machine
  • other supplies - digi cutting file (Silhouette store; modified), cotton lace from stash, red cardstock from stash, paper flower from Prima Marketing, yellow bling flower from CreaMotion, red floss from We'R Memory Keepers, Tim Holtz distressing tool, ColorBox pigement ink, foam pads from stash, Glue Dots, Glue Dots Lines

a sparkly 'hello'

Hi everyone and happy Monday :)

Today I want to share a non-stamped card with you. I followed the sketch #110 from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and used papers from the 'All About Me' collab kit by The Digichick designers.

The sparkly 'hello' are made using glitter alphabet stickers from My Little Shoebox. Don't know if you can see the glitter properly in the photos but the lovely sparkle is definitely there and I love the look of it :)

The swirl and butterfly are cutting files from the Silhouette online store, that I cut with my Silhouette SD machine.

A Simple Kraft Easter Tag (edited)

Hi everyone and happy Sunday :)
Today I want to show you a super quick and easy tag for Easter (it's for my parents in law's Easter basket :) )
I stamped the Chick in Easteregg directly onto kraft cardstock, then I made an oval mask from scratch paper and wiped around the edges with some Adirondack Butterscotch ink. I then stamped the Spring-Flourish stamp repeatedly around the main image (with the mask still on the image). After removing the mask, I colored everything with watercolor pencils (without using any water!) and put some Icicle Stickles around the tag edges, added a crinkled ribbon ... finished :)

After I posted the 'finished' Easter tag I thought there's something missing.. so I made a little extra tag with a German Easter Greetings saying ('Ein schönes Osterfest')

It was really sooooo easy and quick to create, but I like the result :)

challenges:

card recipe:
  • stamps - chick in easter egg , spring flourish and German Easter Saying 'Ein schönes Osterfest'  all by LeLo Design
  • color medium - Mondeluz watercolor pencils, Adirondack inks
  • tools - Big Shot, Crop-A-Dile
  • other supplies - kraft cardstock from Bazzill, Nestabilities Label 8 dies, Icicle Stickles, crinkled ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique (etsy), green twine from stash

Reach for the moon...

... even if you miss you will land among the stars'.

Hi everyone and happy Friday :)

I have been absent from my blog for some days this week (the post on Wednesday was a scheduled one), because I have been sick with diarrhea and vomiting combined :-/

Luckily, I feel a bit better today and so I had a little bit extra time to color one of the newly released digi stamps from Crafts and Me. I colored this beautiful stamp called 'The Infinite Star' and made this card.

***sorry, have to put it down for the next month because the card will be published in Scrapbook News and Review magazine***
The pictures will be back up in July

The paper is from a digital paper pack called 'Laitha's Follow Your Dreams Paper Pack'

The black corner in the lower left is a die cutting file for the Silhouette machine from Samantha Walker, the black swirl on the right side is a die cut from QuicKutz that I used with my Big Shot

here are a few close ups:

I really had a blast creating this card :)

card recipe:

If You Can Dream It You Can Do It!

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday :)
I am brave enough ;) trying again and going to schedule this post.. it didn't work properly lately, so I really hope it works this time, because it's my first time posting as a DT member of Crafts and Me Challenges :)

Oh... and today is the ONE YEAR BLOG-O-VERSARY for Crafts and Me Challenges!
To celebrate, Teresa the owner of Crafts and Me is going to add to the regular prize from Sweet Peas who is sponsoring our challenge this week with a $20 Gift Card(!) by giving 8 digi's to a separate draw by Random.org .... *woowwweeee* .... how cool is that???!!

This time Vicky came up with an inspirational challenge. She chose two pictures where you can get your inspiration from. I was inspired by the colors in the second inspirational photo and came up with this card:
To create this card I used one of the stamps from Sara Burrier called 'Thumbelina Faith'.
And I thought the sentiment 'If you can dream it you can do it' was perfect in two ways: on the one hand it fits the 'dreamy' image, on the other hand it's exactly what I thought when Teresa from Crafts and Me asked me to be on her DT :)

challenges:

card recipe:
  • stamp - Thumbelina Faith by Sara Burrier (Crafts and Me)
  • color mediums - Tombow Dual Brush pens, Mondeluz watercolor pencils, Twinklings H2O, chalks, Stardust Stickles
  • design papers - Frosty by WM[squared] Designs
  • font - Dagobert
  • tools - Big Shot
  • other supplies - Nestabilities classic and scalloped circle dies, dark grey cardstock from Bazzill, lace and paper rose from Wild Orchid Crafts, crinkled ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique (etsy), foam pads from stash, Glue Dots

Just Having Fun

Hi everyone and happy Saturday!

First of all I want to express my concernment with the people in Japan who were so terribly hit by the earthquake, the tsunami and now have to deal with a dreadful nuclear 'crisis'. Sending prayers!!!

Now back onto crafty things
Over at Moxie Fab World, Cath has chosen another wonderful 'Tuesday Trigger'
I recently bought some patterned papers from the new My Minds Eye Stella and Rose collection
And as soon as I saw the inspirational photo this lush paper 'Mabel Little Lady Posies' immediately came to my mind and so I had to use it for my card.

close up
(I stamped the flower on kraft cardstock and cut her out then put it on a foam pad for additional dimension)
