your kindness is appreciated

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Thursday :-)

Yesterday we had lots of rain.. but it's still sticky and it has not really cooled down.. it's that kind of weather where I tend to get a headache.... *mmmpf*

But now onto some more nice things :-)

Today I want to share a card with you that I made with an image from a new stamp company: 'Some Odd Girl' !
Ha! I hear you calling: 'WHAT?'... 'a new stamp company???'
Ok ok ok.. I admit it.. it's NOT a new company.. it was only new to me! *lol*
I'm sure many of you know these stamps already while I must have been living under a rock not having any of their adorable images until yesterday *lol*

Soooo.... here's my very first card using a Some Odd Girl image - this sweet little girl is called 'Sunny Tia'
I colored her using Tombows, some watercolor pencils for some additional shading and a little bit of Stickles to highlight the flower in her hands. I then cut her out trimming very close and put her on foam pads.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I would be delighted if you take the time to leave me a comment :-) Have a wonderful day, my sweet friends!

card receipe:
  • stamps - 'Sunny Tia' by Some Odd Girl, sentiment from 'Card Sentiments Digital Stamps' by Arty Pants

  • patterned papers - 'In The Garden' by Mari Koegelenberg Creations
  • other supplies - cardstock from stash, border punch from Martha Stewart, seamless binding from etsy, pearl pin from Jenni Bowlin, foam pads from stash, Glue Dots

{DT} - Fairy At Sunset

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Wednesday :-)

Oh my goodness.. it's sooooo hot over here.. around 35°C (95°F) during the last days (with high humidity) ...*phew*... feels like we are melting away, soon!!!

But anyway.. 'the show must go on' *lol* and here's a card with one of the wonderful and unique stamp images from Jasmine Becket-Griffith available at Crafts and Me! The image I used here on this card is 'Fairy at Sunset' and I think she's super adorable! Love here whirlwind of hair and her dress made from leaves :-)

I put some Stardust Stickles on her wings and took the picture while the glitter glue was still wet.. so the sparkle is more subtle now IRL than it looks here on the photo. Maybe I'll get a chance to take another picture of it... (but can't promise, because my eldest sons are in Rome and they have taken my little digi cam with them. So I only have my Canon 1000D here to take photos and I guess I have to charge the battery first *lol*)

The sentiment is from a last years store stamp set released by Whiff of Joy while I was a guest DT member for them :-)

Now I hope for a little cooling-down today (it looks like a thunderstorm is coming toda) and hope to see you again soon!

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek at my work :-)
And if you would be so generous to leave a comment I would be really happy, because your comments are always very much appreciated! :-)))

card receipe:
  • stamps - 'Fairy at Sunset' by Jasmine Becket-Griffith, sentiment from last years store kit by Whiff of Joy

Hello Sunshine

Hi everyone and happy Friday (again) :-)

Here's a second card for today. My inspiration for this card came from the 'Moxie Fab Challenge: Beautiful Borders'. To create this card I used various digi kits from the June 'Mix A Kit' collection at Scrap Matters.

Celebrate Birthday

Hi everyone and happy Thursday :-)

First of all, I want to write a few words for my German blog friends:

Ok...onward with my post in english ;-)
Yesterday the postman brought me some new goodies and I couldn't resist and had to play with my new MME 'Hip-Hooray Boy' paper kit *lol*
It was so much fun! I totally adore the fresh, bold and fun colors in this collection!

card receipe:
  • patterned papers and cardstock accessories - MME 'Hip-Hooray Boy' paper kit
  • other supplies - Sakura white gel pen, Hero Arts blue selfadhesive gemstone, blue grosgrain ribbon from stash, yellow button from Basic Grey, red floss from WeRMemoryKeepers, foam pads from stash, Glue Dots Mini

{DT} - Dandelions

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday :)

Today, the rubber DT from Crafts and Me Challenges has set up a new challenge for you - the theme for this week is: STITCHING
No matter if you want to do real stitching/sewing or just faux..  every type of 'stitching' is ok :)

Here's my card and I did some faux stitching around the card. I hope you can see it in the picture:

I used the new 'Melody Wishes You...' stamp by Lemon Shortbread and again cut her out, trimming closely and put her on foam pads. The background was created using the 'Make A Wish' bundle from Ju Kneipp Designs. I thought the papers and elements with all it's Dandelions was the perfect match for the stamp image and I loved the soft colors in this kit, too :)

Here's a close up of the layered paper flower I made using circles in different sizes I cut out from the patterned papers and distressed them a bit:

Oh.. and if you have a minute and don't mind, please read this post and give me a little support by sharing your thoughts with me via the comment section or just participating in my poll (it's anonymous - I cannot see who voted for which option)  - thanks so much for your help! :)

challenges:

card receipe:
  • stamp - 'Melody Wishes You...' by Lemon Shortbread (Crafts and Me)
  • coloring medium - Tombow Dual Brush Pens and Mondeluz watercolor pencils
  • design papers - 'Make A Wish Bundle' by Ju Kneipp Designs, available here and here
  • other supplies - purple crystal brad by Making Memories, white lace from stash, blue grosgrain ribbon from stash, white gel pen from Sakura, paper piercing tool and foam pads from stash, Glue Dots

and one more birthday card BUT....

.... BUT this time with a little touch of vintage ;-)

Hi everyone and happy Sunday!

I hope you all have a great weekend so far! The weather here in the very Southwest of Germany is ugly.. it's cold and rainy and just *brrr* ... but after all it's perfect for sitting on the crafting table and create cards, isn't it?! ;-)

So.. here's another birthday card. But this time it's not clean, not simple, not even cute .. but with a little touch of vintage :-)

Love this bird collage stamp that Donna Wells of Arty Pants designed. So as soon as I saw this awesome stamp, I knew I had to create a card with this beautiful collage stamp.

The card might look simple without much embellishments but it was a lot of work and thoughts going into this card anyhow ;-)  First I distressed the stamped collage with various Distress inks, then I colored parts of the stamped collage. I stamped the birds twice, colored them again, cut them out trimming closely and put them on foam pads for more dimension and interest.

The frame was created using a digi cutting file from the Silhouette store.
I distressed all cardstock (card base and cut out frame) with some acrylic paints and crayons.
I also highlighted parts of the collage and frame with a white gel pen.
The 'Happy Birthday' was created using a Dymo Label maker.

I like the result but I am not happy with the pictures. They just don't do the card justice.. but well..can't change the weather at the moment and today the daylight lamp wasn't any help, too *sigh*

Here's an additional close up of the cut out birds
Wishing you all a wonderful, SUNNY and creative Sunday, my sweet blogging friends!

  • stamp - 'Bird Collage' by Arty Pants Digital Stamps
  • coloring medium - Mondeluz watercolor pencils, Crayola glitter crayons, Sakura white gel pen, black acrylic paint from stash
  • tools - Silhouette SD machine, Dymo Label maker
  • other supplies - dark grey cardstock from stash, frame cutting file from Silhouette Store, foam pads from stash

{DT} - The Bride

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday - again :)

As promised..... it's Wednesday and I want to show you a card that's NOT clean and NOT (so) simple *giggle*

It's for the challenge over at Crafts and Me Challenges where the amazing digi team is challenging us and YOU to create something and 'bling it on'.

Maybe you cannot see it too good in the pictures, but actually there's some bling on my card:
I put Stickles around the inner circle in the background (the papers are from Stolen Moments' 'Tenderly' kit), there are some tiny crystals around the pearl pins and I used a glitter gel pen to highlight 'Melody The Bride's dress and her jewlery :)

I used some 'Flower Soft' (it's my first time I'm using it, even though I have this in my stash for over a year now *lol*) to pimp her up und to make her bridal bouquet and the floral wreath around her head looking a bit more 'real'
I stamped and colored Melody The Bride and then cut her out trimming closely and put her on foam pads for more dimension - hope you can see it in the next close up:
and one last close up of the bow with pearl pins (I so love the vintage feel of the crinkled ribbon together with some pearl pins)

Thanks for coming along and visiting my blog - please stop by later again, when I have wonderful to share (together with another non-clean and simple card ;-) )

challenges:

card receipe:
  • stamps - Melody The Bride by Lemon Shortbread (Crafts and Me), Grunge stamps from Stempelglede, French Script background stamp from Stampin' Up!
  • color mediums - Tombow Dual Brush pens, Sakura clear Stardust gel pen
  • design papers - Tenderly by Stolen Moments
  • tools - Big Shot, Silhouette SD machine
  • other supplies - cardstock from Dani Peuss, Nestabilities classic circle die, Doilies cutting file from The Cutting Files, crinkled ribbon from my stash (etsy), Stickles from Ranger, pearl pins from Jenni Bowlin, foam pads from stash, Glue Dots

Sending You Greetings To Brighten Your Day

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday :)

Ok... one more CAS card *LOL*

Have you seen the 'Tuesday Trigger' on Moxie Fab World this week?
It's such an inspiring picture.. looooove the colors!

And as soon as I saw the trigger picture this idea came to my mind:
Unfortunately the picture is not too good, because I did not have anymore daylight (because in Germany it was almost 10pm while taking the photo ;-) )

need your opinions, please!

Hi my sweet blogging friends :)

I am asking for a huge favor: I would be super happy if you'd share your opinion with me - because what is a blog without it's readers? *smile*

Well, recently I noticed that I am going back and forth and change between the 'styles' (do I have style? *lol*)

There are periods when I create lots of 'clean and simple' cards, while during other weeks I create a lot more intricate cards with lots of colouring and embellishments and distressing and things like that.

I'm not sure if you -my readers- are too happy with this mix of styles?

And therefore I was thinking about splitting my blog!
I already have two for my cards ;-) but until now I always posted ALL kind of cards here on this stamping blog, while I only posted the more clean, simple and scrap related cards on my other blog.

What do YOU think about it?

Do you rather want to see only the more intricate cards with colouring, embellishments etc here on my stamping blog than a mix?
Should I post the 'other' (CAS/scrap-) cards on my scrap blog only?
Or would you prefer to see all of my work in one place?

I would *L*O*V*E* to hear from you what you think about it!

Please leave me a comment and/or vote for your personal preference on the poll I set up on top of the right side in my side bar (that's an easy way to keep your opinion 'anonymous' because I can't see who voted or who voted for which option :-) )

Thank you so much in advance for your help :-)

{DT} - Today Is Your Day!

Congrats

Hi everyone and happy Friday :)

I have a super quick and easy Congrats card that I want to show you today:
For this card I used some of my leftover scraps from various October Afternoon patterned papers (I think they are from the 'Modern Homemaker' and 'Farm Fresh' collections).
I punched out some butterflies of the scraps and also cut out the 'Congrats' lettering using my Silhouette SD machine and a font I have on my computer (sorry.. forgot about which one it was.. I have a memory like a sieve *sigh*) and glued it all down with Glue Dots Minis and some liquid adhesive.

I hope you all will have a wonderful, sunny and creative weekend!

{DT} Romantic Flower Fairy

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday :)

I hope you all have a great week!

Today I want to show you a fairy card that I made for this weeks Crafts and Me Challenge, where Tracy wants you to 'stamp something'... that's an easy one, isn't it!? :-))))

For my card I used one of the beautiful new rubber stamps from Crafts and Me. This one is designed by Sara Burrier and it's called 'The Leap'. I love how the beautiful fairy is surrounded by all the doves with hearts. Isn't she adorable?
I did a lot of distressing on this card.. not sure if you can see it properly on the photos. I put some cream acryilic paint around all edges and also on the swirl die cut. I then did some more distressing using some purple chalks.
This also is a super sparkly card: I used a clear glitter gel pen to highlight the wings. There's also some golden shimmer on her corsage. I put some glitter glue (Stickles) around the edges of the background paper and also added some glitter to the rosebud (see close up picture):
  • stamps - The Leap by Sara Burrier (Crafts and Me)
  • color medium - Tombow Dual Brush pens, Mondeluz watercolor pencils, chalks, cream acrylic paint from stash
  • design papers - Carefree Paper Prints Pack by KimB Design
  • tools - Silhouette SD, Big Shot
  • other supplies - cardstock from American Crafts, cutting file from Silhouette online store, Nestabilities Label dies, Stardust Stickles from ranger, selfadhesive half pearls from Kaisercrafts, paper rosebud from Wild Orchid Crafts, foam tape from stash, Glue Dots

Life's Good

Hi everyone and happy Sunday :)

Today is my birthday ... my 39th .... for the 4th time now (shhh.. don't tell someone else ;-) ) and I had a little bit time left over and created this card for the current 'CAS' challenge at The Outlawz (this time it's a receipe challenge)

The patterned paper is from an older series of Dream Street Papers called 'Baylee's Garden' .. and even though it's an old and retired collection, I still love it :)  Stamps are from Whiff of Joy (image and sentiment, both released last year in summer). The image is 'Willow with Coffee 2 Go' and is also available at Crafts and Me here

The image was colored with Tombow Dual Brush pens and Mondeluz watercolor pencils.
Then I cut the lady out and put her on some foam pads for dimension.

I also pierced the patterned paper on the left side (I just pierced on the huge flower's faux stitching.. can you see it? I hope so...) To dress it up a little I also used a button and some bakers twine I found in my stash

Hope you like my little card a bit :)
