Moments With You Are Magical

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday :)

We have a new challenge starting as of today at Crafts and Me Challenges. This week the amazingly talented Angela is hosting the challenge and she chose
Distress/Vintage

Ohhhh... this is just perfect for me.. I soooo love distressing :-)

I used the adorable 'Rachel Anderson's Lily of the Valley' stamp available at Crafts and Me

I really did a LOT of distressing on this card ;-)
Not only did I distress all the paper edges (the design paper is from the digi paper pack called 'drip-drop {the papers}' by Joyful Heart Designs available at The Digichick). But I also used Gesso and Distress inks to distress the papers further more, and also the paper flowers and even the twine :)

The sentiment is from the new 'Everyday Mini Postage Stamps' set by Whimsy Stamps. I stamped the 'magical' sentiment, cut out the inner rectangle and then die cut a piece of black cardstock using the coordinating 'Mini Postage Stamp Die' by Whimsy Stamps

Wishes of a Happy Birthday

Hi everyone and Happy Easter :)

*woohoo*.. I created another card.. two cards in two days in a row.. unbelievable ;-)

After visiting Annika's blog a few days ago where I saw her GORGEOUS mermaid with black hair (she did it for the current Make It Colourful challenge), I absolutely wanted to try to do black hair myself  - I think I've never done black hair before!

BTW: You absolutely should go and take a look at Annika's work on her blog, if you don't know her by now.. she's one of the most talented AND super sweet people I ever met in 'blog land'!

And as you may know I don't own any Copics...so it was a bit difficult for me, because there are TONS of tutorials for black hair using Copics around blog land but I've never seen one for Tombows or even watercolor pencils (and that's what I have *lol*)

So the only thing I could do was just give it a try ;-))) and this is my result ... anything but perfect ... but I think it's ok for the first attempt ...

challenges:

card recipe:
  • stamps - Rock Chick by KennyK (Whimsy Stamps), Party Mini Letter Seals by Raindrop Echo Designs (Whimsy Stamps)
  • color mediums - Tombow Dual Brush pens, Mondeluz watercolor pencils
  • patterned papers - Ambrosia by Basic Grey
  • tools - Silhouette SD machine, Big Shot
  • other supplies - black cardstock from stash and American Crafts, purple cardstock from stash, Nestabilities classic and scalloped circles, div. cutting files for Silhouette SD machine, selfadhesive crystals from stash, paper piecing tool from stash, Sakura white gel pen, foam pads from stash, Glue Dots

Birthday Card For a Little Fireman

Hi everyone and happy Saturday :)

As some of you may know, I'm a mother to four boys .. the two 'little' ones are aged 6 and 8 and so I am in need of many birthday cards for boys (because they are invited to other little boys birthday partys a lot *smile*)

Soooo .. here's one more for my (actually not existing *g*) stash... because I'm always happy to have a card on hand for the next birthday invitation my boys get ;-)

I used the super cute new digi stamp 'Fireman Bear' by Meljen's Design and one of the stamps from the 'Party Mini Letter Seals' rubber stamp set by Raindrop Echo.

I did some paper piecing on the firemanbear's coat using a blue paper :)

The papers I used for the card are from the new 'Boyish Charm Papers' by Elise's Pieces. I love her kits and papers because she really is a master in doing 'boyish' stuff!

A little bit of distressing using Distress inks around the edges of the patterened background paper and around the circle of the focal image, then some faux stitching.. that's it.. pretty easy :)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Fairy in Blue

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday :)

Sorry for not being around much lately, but I have really so much going on IRL at the moment.. I hope to be back in full swing at the beginning of May!

But I managed to create a card this week *yay* ;-) and I used the adorable and oh so gorgeous 'Glacier Lily Fairy' rubber stamp by Hannah Lynn available at Crafts and Me Stamps.

Isn't this fairy just beautiful? I just love her face and all the wonderful details on this image ...

It is the second time I use her on a card ('cause I really LOVE her). This time she is coloured in blues, last time I coloured her in red and yellow.. and no matter what 'dress' (color) she 'wears'.. she's always looking great, doesn't she?! ;-)

The design papers in the background are from the digi paper pack 'Carefree Paper prints Pack' by KimB Designs. I so adore Kims paper designs! The paper lily was originally white and I sprayed it with some blue Glimmer Mist spray and colored the seed heads with Tombows in yellow and orange.

Oh and don't forget to stop by our Crafts and Me Challenges blog, because there's a new challenge starting today :)

  • stamp - Glacier Lily Fairy from Crafts and Me Stamps
  • color medium - Tombow Dual Brush pens, Mondeluz watercolor pencils, chalks
  • design papers - Carefree Paper prints Pack by KimB Designs
  • tools - Big Shot
  • other supplies - Nestabilities Label dies, black cardstock from stash, white lace from Wild Orchid Crafts, blue crinkled ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique (etsy), white paper lily from Wild Orchid Crafts, blue Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angel, white pearl pin from Jenni Bowlin, foam tape from stash, Glue Dots

Lots of Sparkle

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday :)

Today I want to show you a card for the new challenge at Crafts and Me Challenges where the lovely Mina from our digi team chose the awesome challenge theme 'glitter' :)

So I put on loooots of glitter all around the focal image by smearing Stickles Stardust with my fingers all around. But I wasn't able to capture it properly in a photo *sigh* I tried it so many times.. I think I took over 30 photos *lol* It's such a shame that it looks kind of  grubby and coarse-grained in the picture.. in real life it is just beautifully shimmery!

Well I hope you can at least imagine all the shininess around the 'Time Flies' image illustrated by Jasmine Becket-Griffith and available in the Crafts and Me store HERE
challenges:

card recipe:
  • stamps - Time Flies by Jasmine Becket-Griffith (Crafts and Me),  'Flourish Stamps and Brushes' by Quirky Twerp
  • color medium - Tombow Dual Brush pens, Mondeluz watercolor pencils, chalks
  • design papers - Into Indigo by Quirky Twerp, Autumn Zinger Patterns (color modified) by Quirky Twerp
  • tools - Big Shot
  • other supplies - Nestabilities Label 11 dies, Martha Stewart scalloped border punch, mullberry rose from Wild Orchid Crafts, crinkled ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique (etsy), pearl pin by Jenni Bowlin, white gel pen from Sakura, Sakura Stardust Stickles, foam pads from stash

Help for Japan - Special Blog Hop

Hi everyone and happy Monday :)

Welcome to a very special blog hop today!
The illustrators of Whimsy Stamps have come together to draw a special set of digi images for the purpose of raising money for the relief effort in Japan. For the whole month of April, you can purchase the images as a set or individually (your choice) by visiting this page on the Whimsy store site. Please consider helping this special cause by purchasing one or all of the digital images we are offering.

If you have landed here from Melanie's blog, you are right on track. If you have come here randomly and would like to start hopping from the beginning, please go to Crissy's blog She has the blog rotation order posted if you need to refer to it.

The amazing ladies of two design teams have come together to host this blog hop for you!  Crissy's Crew from Sundays With Crissy and Denise's DT from Whimsy Stamps have joined forces to design some amazing jaw dropping creations for you.  You have seven days to hop through all the blogs and enjoy all the lovely creations from these talented people.

The hop runs from now through til Sunday April 10 at noon. There will be several opportunities to win blog candy! Four random commenters will get a chance to receive one of the three individual images or Ann's sentiment set. So be sure to leave comments all along the way for your chance at a free digi!

Also, if you post the "Help for Japan" button on your blog's sidebar, you can enter into the draw for the grand prize! To enter, you must help us advertise for this cause by posting the "Help Japan" button on your blog's side bar (just grab it from my side bar) and then get your name on the Inlinkz option on Crissy's post so we can be sure to find the winner.

Now on to my project:
I have used 'Heartfelt Angel' created by Crissy Armstrong and a sentiment from the 'Help For Japan' sentiment set by Raindrop Echo Designs in the following card

ETA: I dressed my card up a little bit.. thought it looked a little bit 'naked' *lol*.. hope you like the new version
