{DT} - sending hugs to cure your bug!

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Thursday :-)

Today I want to share a 'get well' card with you.

The papers are from a digi paper pack called 'Uptown Citrus' available here at The Digichick and the sentiment is from the 'Get Well Soon' sentiment set by Raindrop Echo Designs available here at Whimsy Stamps. The striped ribbon from May Arts and the yellow button are both available at Sew Sweet.
BTW: Whimsy Stamps is having a huge sale at the moment: the digi stamps are 25% off at the moment! So what are you waiting for.. just hop on over to their shop and take a look at their adorable digi stamps :-)

Wishing you all a fabulous and creative day :-)

{DT} - You Make Me Happy

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Wednesday :-)

Today I want to show you another card that I made a few days ago, but did not show on my blog yet

It's a very simple one, where I created the 'H' using buttons from Sew Sweet. They have lots of great value bags with buttons in wonderful color combos :-) As far as I know -I hope I don't tell you lies- Emma (the owner of Sew Sweet) is hand-dying all the buttons on her own and I really LOVE the colors and combos she sells in her mixed button bags!

card receipe:
  • buttons - Sew Sweet
  • cardstock - Bazzill (kraft), Others (blue, orange, red, yellow)
  • font - Dagobert
  • other supplies - paper piecing tool from stash, Sakura white gel pen, Glue Dots, Glue Dots Mini

{DT} - hello friend and a new challenge blog :-)

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Sunday :)

Today I want to share a card with you where I used felt to create my own design elements for the very first time :)  I handdraw the clouds and sun onto white and yellow felt, cut them out and created a 'sky' with them.
To create the grass, I used a strip of green dotted patterned paper and cut lots of little stripes
The cute image is a rubber stamp from Whimsy Stamps called 'Thunder Lizzy ' created by Crissy Armstrong.

Speaking of Whimsy Stamps, I have some exciting news to share:
Whimsy Stamps is launching their very own challenge blog soon *yay*
The challenges will start on August 10th!
If you help us spread the word, you can also win some awesome prizes!
You can read all about the details on the Whimsy Inspirations Blog --> here!

Here are some close up:

card receipe:
  • stamps - Whimsy Stamps ('Thunder Lizzy'), Stampendous (words)
  • coloring medium - Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (blue), Tombow Dual Brus pens
  • patterned papers - Jillibean Soup (Dutch Mustard Soup), October Afternoon (Modern Homemaker)
  • cardstock - Dani Peuss (kraft)

Home Sweet Home

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Saturday :-)

Hope you all will have a wonderful weekend! It's raining again over here and we have our SAR dog training in the afternoon.. hope I will not be soaked to the skin afterwards ;-)

Here's a card I made yesterday. I wanted it saying 'Home, sweet Home' but I don't have a stamp with that saying. So I rifled through my stamps until I found two clear stamp sets with two sentiment stamps:
One saying 'How Sweet' (from MFT) and the other one with 'you make me feel right at home' (from Hero Arts). Then I just inked up the words I needed ('home' and 'Sweet') and created my 'Home Sweet Home' sentiment ;-)

(sorry, had to take the picture offline, since it will be published in 'Create: Stamping Idea Book' in February 2012 - the picture will be back here on my blog in March 2012 :-) )

The House was stamped, colored and cut out trimming closely and then put on some foam tape for dimension. I also did the 'simple' variant of faux stitching (w/o poking holes) here and I repeated stamping the little tulip to create the flower row.

Enough babbled... have a great weekend everyone!

card receipe:
  • stamps - 'Whimsical House' by Hero Arts, clear stamp set from My Favorite Things
  • coloring medium - Tombow Dual Brush pens, Sakura white gel pen
  • cardstock - Bazzill kraft cardstock
  • other supplies - blue bakery twine from The Twinery, foam tape from stash

{DT} - Sweet Selena

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Friday :-)

Oh my gosh .. I feel so bad, because I totally forgot to post my card for this weeks 'Crafts and Me Challenge' where Teresa wants to see flower(s) somewhere on your card.

You may not see it very well, but there IS a flower on my card... a teeny tiny little red 'gem' flower in 'Sweet Selena's hair ;-)

For the background of the focal point (which is Hannah Lynn's 'Sweet Selena') I used some 'Black Magic' Core'dinations Cardstock, ran it through my Big Shot using a Cuttlebug embossing folder and then sanded the embossed lines to bring out the pastel pink. I think you cannot see it properly in the picture but it's really a neat effect IRL :)

For a finishing touch I added some crinkled Caviar seam binding , added a red button and adhered the button and a metal strawberry charm to the ribbon using some pink button twine.

you make me feel right at home

Hi everyone and happy Sunday :-)

I'm back at home *yay* I hope you enjoyed your weekend as much as I did!
We had a blast during our SAR dog training camp (even though it was raining cats and dogs today *lol*.. but was lots of fun and great excercises although!)

But I'm also glad to be home again (and to be able to sleep in my own bed instead of a sleeping bag in a little tent together with my DH and our two dogs *lol*)

And I just had to create this quick card:

ETA August 18th: Thank you, Hero Arts for featuring my card on their blog HERE

card receipe:
  • stamp - 'Whimsical House' clear stamp set from Hero Arts
  • coloring medium - red Tombows Dual Brush pen
  • patterned papers - October Afternoon
  • other supplies - aqua baker's twine by Divine Twine, white gel pen by Sakura, kraft cardstock by Bazzill, clear rhinestones by Prima Marketing

Ciao

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Saturday :-)

This is a scheduled post and I hope it will go live as scheduled ;-)

I did not want to leave for the training camp without having at least one card posted for the weekend *lol*

So here is a super simple card using some more of my new Hero Arts stamps and one of the adorable buttons from the 'Spring Mixed Button Bag' from Sew Sweet and the natural kraft button twine

I created the clouds by using a selfmade scalloped template and blue chalks.. really easy!

Then I just used my brand new crafting toy (the 'Sew Easy' from We'R Memory Keepers) and 'sewed' all around the edges of the card and added some faux stitching using a white gel pen.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Monster Party

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Friday :-)

I want to show you this super quick and fun monster card I made yesterday in the evening.
If you have been here on my blog a few hours ago, you may have seen it here already ;-)
But the picture was soooo bad (because I did not have daylight anymore and I wasn't able to make a good picture of it) so I thought I will do a new post with a new picture today :-)

So here it is again. A card using some Silhouette monster die cuts from Hero Arts.
I cut the monsters out twice: Once using the dark grey cardstock as a mat and a second time a little smaller using colored cardstock. I think this is a perfect card for our next birthday invitations for the little ones. Will go and ask them what they think about it :-)

card receipe:
  • patterned papers - 'It's a Boy Thing' by Haynay Design and WM[squared] Design
  • curve template - 'More Than Just Curves Vol 2' by Happy Scrip Girl Design
  • die cut machine -  Silhouette SD
  • cutting files -  'Baby Monster', 'Horned Monster' and 'One-Eyed Monster' by Hero Arts from Silhouette store
  • font - Bodony MT
  • other supplies - cardstock from stas, Glue Dots

Hi :-)

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Thursday :-)

Sorry, I have been very quiet this week, but had lots to prepare for the weekend: We will have a search and rescue dog training camp for the weekend :-) We have SAR trainings camps only once a year in summer and it's always very exhausting but also lots of fun!
I hardly can wait until Saturday is over :-)

If I will not have time to pop in again before the training weekend, I wish you all a wonderful and relaxing weekend, my lovelies!

Best Wishes

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Monday :-)

I hope you all had a great start into the new week!

Today I got my new Hero Arts stamps that I ordered last week and I LOVE them!!!

And of course I had to create a card with all the new goodies immediately *lol* and made this one for the 'Stamp It! Cards Week Challenge' in the Moxie Fab World.

And here's how I did it:
I created a shaped card using the largest Label1 die from Spellbinder and then cut out a window from the front side using the next smaller die. I then cut out a piece of acetate to fit behind the window.
The butterfly and small flower is stamped on patterned paper, cut out trimming closely and put on the acetate on the front. I stamped the label and sentiment on the inside of the card  and added some rhinestones and a little bit of Stickles Stardust as a finishing touch.

Here are two additional close ups:

card receipe:
  • stamps - Hero Arts (CG328 Butterflies and Print; CL488 Congrats)
patterned papers - Basic Grey (Out of Print 6x6 pad)
cardstock - Core'dinations (Black Magic Cauldron)
other supplies - rhinestones from Kaisercraft, acetate from stash, Stardust Stickles from Ranger, Nestabilities Label 1 dies from Spellbinders, foam pads from stash, Glue Dots Mini, Glue Dots Lines

{DT} - amazing

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Sunday :-)

Today I want to share with you a simple yet happy card that I made using some digital papers, elements and doodle clip mats (everything by eNKay Design, who is a guest at The Digichick for July) and a 3/4'' orange/white striped twill ribbon by May Arts (available at Sew Sweet) as well as lots of buttons from the 'Spring Mixed Button Collection' from Sew Sweet

What I think, you can't tell from the picture is that I poked the 'amazing' doodle with a paper piecing tool for a little bit more interest. Looks nice IRL, but I wasn't able to catch it in the photo.

Wishing you all a wonderful and sunny Sunday :-)

{DT} - friends are flowers in the garden of life

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Saturday :-)

I hope you are all feeling good and have a wonderful, sunny weekend!
After my youngest has ben taken ill at the beginning of the week (he's now fit again), now my second youngest has pustules all over the body and I suspect this could be rubeola (even though both of the boys are vaccinated!)
So we are sitting inside watching TV and stuff like this and can't enjoy the wonderful weather outside *sigh*

But I'm always trying to look on the bright side: this way I had some exta time to create a card ;-)

The following one was made for the 'Color Cue' challenge at the Market Street Stamps blog.
I immediately fell in love with the color combo when I saw it and thought I'd give it a go - even though I'm not eligible to win *sob* ;-)

{DT} - Birthday Wishes

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Friday :-)

Today I have a simple card without any patterned papers.

I created the card for the 'Stamp It! Cards Week Challenge' at Moxie Fab World.

I stamped the flower image (Penny Black) twice on kraft cardstock: Once with opaque white Staz On ink and a second time with Versamark ink. I then colored the image slightly using some watercolor pencils and added a tad bit of Stardust Stickles here and there.

I wrapped some gorgeous crinkled seam binding in 'Elderberry' (I {heart} the color!) from Sew Sweet and also tyed a double bow with the seam binding. I decorated the center of the bow with a button from the 'Spring mixed Button Bag' from Sew Sweet. To secure the button to the bow I used some 'pink button twine' from American Crafts.

The sentiment (from Inkadinkado) is stamped with brown Versafine ink and for the finishing touch I inked the edges of the kraft card base using some 'Moonlight White' Brilliance ink.

That's it :-)

card receipe:
  • stamps - 'day dreams' by Penny Black, sentiment from clear stamp set by Inkadinkado
  • inks - Versafine Vintage Sepia, Brilliance Moonlight White, Staz On Opaque White
  • coloring medium - Mondeluz watercolor pencils
  • cardstock - kraft by Dani Peuss
  • other supplies - 'Elderberry' crinkled seam binding by Sew Sweet, Button from 'Spring mixed Button Bag' by Sew Sweet, pink button twine by American Crafts, Stardust Stickles

{DT} - Genevieve

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Wednesday :-)

I hope you had a great week so far.

Since it's Wednesday it means another challenge at Crafts and Me Challenges, where we want you to use your 'favorite stamp'.

Well I admit it.. the stamp I used on my card is not the favorite stamp (because I love so many stamps, that I just cannot decide which one is the favorite one *lol*), but it's a stamp from one of my all time favorite stamp image designers: Hannah Lynn! I so adore her work and I used the adorable 'Genevieve' to create my card:

I'm just popping in for a quick post to say a huge THANK YOU to all who left me a comment or voted on my question about splitting the blog into two 'by style'.
Most of you voted for leaving it as is and not splitting .... and this is what I will do :-)
