{DT} - Card Caravan Challenge and Whimsy Blog Hop

Hi everyone and happy Monday :)

We have a new Card Caravan Challenge started over at The Hybrid Chick, yesterday :-)
For the next two weeks, we want to see 'homemade' flowers somewhere on your cards :-)
As always you don't have to use stuff from The Digichick store, but we sure would love it, if you do ;-)

Here's my card using the adorable 'Emporium' collab kit by The Digichick Designers

now onto our
WHIMSY BLOG HOP

To create the blue rolled flower on the right side, I used one of the brand new Whimsy Stamps Shape EZ by TLC! The wonderful Tammy Louise Cunliff designed some awesome cutting files that can either be used with a digital die cutting machine or just being used as a template to cut it out by hand.

So to celebrate the launch of this brand new product line, there is a blog hop starting today, Monday 31st and ending on Sunday November 6th, noon EST.

For this hop we have several different prize draws. One lucky hopper will win a grand prize of a $25 gift certificate. In addition to this, we have hidden several surprise prizes throughout the hop, so be sure to leave a comment on every post along the hop to be entered into the surprise draws. All winners will be announced on the Whimsy Stamps blog after the blog hop has ended.
If you came here from the fabulous Stephanne Maraver, then you are on the right track. If you want to begin the hop, please hop over to Debbie Eastman's blog and start there.

To continue, please visit our last stop - the wonderful and super talented artist herself:

{DT} - Cardabilities Sketch #42

Hi everyone and happy Sunday :)

Today we have a new sketch for you over at cardabilities
And as always, it's another great one, designed by Karan Gerber

Here's my card :-)
I guess I've gone a bit crazy with my mini sewing machine on this card *lol* I not only sew around the borders of the kraft card base, but also around the circle sentiment... I just wanted to do a little 'doodle sewing' ... I hope you like it :-)

And this is the wonderful sketch provided by Karan Gerber for Cardabilities
Thanks Karan for always coming up with the most beautiful and inspiring sketches!

card recipe:
  • stamp - Whimsy Stamps 'Winter Letter Seals' by Raindrop Echo Design
  • patterned papers - Basic Grey 'Fruitcake' collection

2Peas Goodies Made Into a Halloween Card

Hi everyone and happy Saturday :-)

Today I have another Halloween card to share with you.

I got some really cool Halloween papers from the 'Trick or Treat' collection by My Little Shoebox in a package from TwoPeasinaBucket.com recently. These papers (and some fun things more) were my prize for winning one of their challenges - THANKS SO MUCH @ 2Peas!!!

And since I am a bit obsessed by all things Halloween I just had to create something with these adorable papers :-)))

The pumpkins are actually cut out from one of the patterned papers and then put on dimensional adhesive.
The sentiment stamp is from a clear stamp set by Cosmo Cricket.

The greeeeeeeen lace (isn't that just perfect for Halloween projects?) and the black ruffled ribbon underneath it are both from Sew Sweet.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you'll have a great weekend!

Christmas Carolers

Hi everyone and happy Thursday :-)

Today I want to share a simple Christmas card with you where I used a Silhouette (in a double sense, because it's a silhouette and also a Silhouette cutting file ;-) ) from Hero Arts as the focal point.

I also decorated the inside of the card, because I wanted a Christmas greeting to be on the card and since I did not have enough room on the front I stamped it on the inside ;-)

card recipe:
  • stamps - Hero Arts 'Classic Christmas Borders' clear stamp set
  • patterned papers - Basic Grey 'Fruitcake' collection
  • tools - Silhouette SD
  • other supplies - Hero Arts digital cutting file 'Carolers Silhouette' from Silhouette online store, kraft cardstock from stash, Martha Stewart border punch, Stampendous snowflake sticker, My Mind's Eye blue rhinestone, paper piecing tool from stash, Sakura white gel pen, foam tape from stash

Paper Pumpkins (w/tutorial)

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday :-)

I recently saw some fall decoration with pumpkins made of paper and I loved the idea.
So I tried to do some myself. These are really small (almost 2'' wide) but you can do them any size you want.
It all depends on the diameter of the circles you use for it (you also can use ovals to create the pumpkins.. I think this looks even more 'real' than the circles)

Ok.. I thought I'd put together a little tutorial on how to make these cuties.. they are really super easy and quick to make!

1 - punch (or die cut) 15-18 circles or ovals from plain orange or patterned papers
I only used 12 circles for these samples, but I think it would look even more nice with more circles or ovals
The circles can be any size (mine in this sample are 1.5'' inches)

2- fold the circles in half with patterns on the inside (refer to picture)

3 - put adhesive on one half of the outside of each circle (refer to picture - upper row)
4 - glue the half circles all together side to side (except for the last one!) and this is what you have:

5 - roll a piece of rectangular brown or green paper to create the stem

6 - put the rolled paper 'stem' in the center and glue the last circle halfs together

I know this little tutorial is anything but perfect but I hope you got the idea :-) It's really super easy!

Let It Snow

Hi everyone and happy Sunday :-)

I hope your Sunday is as wonderful as mine is. It's a cold but wonderful sunny day!
So we decided to visit 'Rötteln Castle' (it's a castle ruin, 10km from where we live... here in the 'deep Black Forest')

Here's one shot I took so you can see a part of the ruin and a tiny bit of the 'Black Forest', too ;-)

Since this is my stamping blog, I have a stamped card to share with you, also :D
Here's a clean and simple winter card using a clear stamp set from Hero Arts.
The photo doesn't show it but I stamped the tiny snowflakes twice: once on the white cardstock
I then wiped over it with blue Distress inks. After that I stamped the snowflakes again in white and put some Stickles in the center of each one. IRL the second white impression does show nicely, but it doesn't in the picture :-/ .. well.. please imagine ;-)

card recipe:
  • stamps - Hero Arts 'Let It Snow' clear stamp set
  • coloring medium - Tombow Dual Brush Pens, Ranger Stickles
  • other supplies - white cardstock from stash, black gel pen from stash

{CT} - Potion No 1

Hi everyone and happy Sunday!

I hope you all have such nice weather like we have:  it's cold outside but we have a wonderful blue sky and the sun is shining ... the perfect October day :)

Today there is a new Card Caravan challenge starting at The Hybrid Chick and this time we have a color challenge: Use green, purple and orange.

Well, to me this color combo screams 'Halloween' ;-) but you don't have to do a Halloween card or project! You can create whatever you like if only you use the colors! :)

To create this little project I used an old glass bottle where the Prima Flowers came in a few years ago :-)
I used some digital patterned papers and wordart from The Digichick store and also a ribbon and a decorative brad from Alyssiane that I got in a package from Two Peas in a Bucket for winning one of their challenges recently :-D

Can't wait to see what YOU will come up with and I hope to see your creation linked up in our challenge!

project recipe:
  • patterned papers - 'Hocus Pocus' by Cluster Queen Creations and geniaBeana, 'Daydreamer' by Danielle Engebretson
  • elements and wordart/stamp - 'Haunted - The Elements' by Mari Koegelenberg Creations
  • tools - Big Shot

And here is my creation using one of Crissy Armstrongs new rubber stamps called 'Jolly Little Santa' and also some of the great 'Holiday Mini Postage Stamps' by Raindrop Echo Designs:

I put on lots of Stickles glitter on this tag (on the trees and postage stamps and I colored all the whites on Santas clothes with the shimmery Twinklings H2O but unfortunately it doesn't show very well in the picture)
Jolly Little Santa was stamped, colored, cut out and put on foam tape. The Mini Postage Stamps where cut out using the matching shapeologie die. I distressed the manila tag with some Disress inks and stamped Lavish Flourishes all around the edges to achieve some extra texture.

Here is a full list of the wonderful new rubber stamps and dies that have been released on Tuesday
4 Crissy Armstrong rubber stamps
Bart Loves Christmas ~ Christmas Dreaming ~ Jolly Little Santa ~ Little Santa Claws

4 Kenny K rubber stamps
Drama Queen ~ Lady Victoria ~ Mistletoe ~ Mrs Claus
