One Sketch: Two Cards in Two Styles!

Hi everyone and happy Monday - again :)

This is the second post for today! If you want to see my guest DT post for this weeks "Clean and Simple Cards Challenge" at Splitcoaststampers, please scroll down or **click here**

The cards I am showing you in this post are both made by following this weeks sketch at Seize the Sketch:

I started an experiment over the weekend: I wanted to create two cards - both with this sketch as a starting point but the results should be totally different in style!

Well, I think I was successful ;-)

The first card is a classy and elegant, yet clean card (despite the many layers) - all white on white with some hints of gold and silver.

Please refer to the grey boxes at the end of this post for step-by-step instructions and a complete list of supplies :)

Please take my appologies for the picture quality in this first picture! It is so hard to take good pictures of all white cards + silver metallic! It looks super pretty IRL (and I hope you can see the actual gorgeousness of the Delicata silver in the close-up) but like I said.. my photographer qualities aren't good enough to catch the beauty of it in a picture, properly *sigh*

For the second card I just wanted to be more "free" in my creative process and went a little crazy with all kinds of different "mediums", such as inks, pens, Gesso, wood, corrugated cardstock, patterned paper, ribbon, stickers.

Of course, that is not what a real artist would call "Mixed Media", but well....not sure how to name this style. But one thing is for sure: it is not elegant and not clean and simple... so it's different and that's what I wanted to achieve *lol*

Please refer to the grey boxes at the end of this post for step-by-step instructions and a complete list of supplies :)

Now I am curious:
What style is YOUR style in cardmaking? Do you sometimes try to go out of your comfort zone and create something totally different?
Let me know in the comments form below this post and maybe you will also like to link to some of **your** style experiments? I would love to take the opportunity, visit your blog or gallery and take a look :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope to see you here on my blog again, soon :)

Hugs, Kisses & Happy Wishes - Birthday Card

Hi everyone and happy Sunday :)

After displaying lots of cards featuring pink and purple lately, I want to share something a little different with you, today:
A Birthday card in cooler colors (ok ok ok, I admit... there is some pink in it, too... but it is not the predominant color, here ;-) ) and with a super pretty patterned paper.
Ihave not used patterned paper very much, recently and so I thought this would be a nice variety to what I have shown during the last weeks.

You can find the step-by-step instructions and a complete list of supplies below this post in the grey boxes :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope to see you here on my blog again, soon :)

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: November Release - Sneak Peek Day #2

Hi everyone and happy Tuesday :)
A new CAS-ual Fridays Stamps release is coming! *woohoo* Three brand new and beautiful stamp sets will be available in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps store on Thursday!
From Monday to Wednesday, the DT are showcasing projects, made with this new November release.  If you haven't seen it yet, you can find my sample for the first sneak peek day **here**
On this second sneak peek day the DT shows you projects made with an adorable stamp set called "Wallflower"!
I kept this card very simple (obviously ;-) ) and used two beautiful Fancy Pants papers (from their "Collecting Moments" collection) on the left side. To achieve the lovely shimmer on the sentiment, I used two "Perleascent" colors from the Brilliance ink family: Lime + Sky Blue! I simply stamped the sentiment and dots twice: first impression was made with blue and the second impression - right above the first - was done with the lime ink. I just love the effect and I hope you do, too :)
Find more inspiration with this fun set here on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog!

I did a very simple little gift bag, folded from one strip of cardstock. The flap was done using the Bubble Labels Fri-Dies.
I added some lovely Fancy Pants Collecting Moments paper to the front of the bag and then die cut a small oval from the Oval Tag Fri-Dies where I stamped the sentiment from Only You onto.
Only You Set gestempelt habe.

Create a clean and simple project that incorporates stitches (faux or real)
I chose to use faux stitches - like I do it so often... it really is one of my favorite techniques :)

Hugs!

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday :)
I have one more card that I want to share with you, that was made with papers from the SBW October Kit! I really love their kits, because they always are jam packed with adorable papers from brand new collections!
I die cut the star from the striped paper, stamped the "hugs" sentiment from Paper Smooches with black Versafine ink and added some "Twinkle Goosebumps" and rhinestones sprinkled all over the dark "watercolor" paper here and there. A piece of sparkly bakers twine and the card is done :)

Justina Tey
As you know, Zva offers many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals.  If you like what you see along the hop you can find a list of stores and online retailers that sell Zva HERE.

I was able to technically keep my wedding card really simple, because the gorgeous Zva Creative embellishments did the "job" for me :)
I distressed the patterned background paper using a Tim Holtz paper distresser and some Distress inks in Walnut Stain.
I then added my beloved faux stitching using a paper piercing tool and a white gel pen.
Besides adhering the awesome white pearl swirl and adding some ice blue flower accents here and there, the only thing I had to do was stamping the sentiment and wrapping around an off white seam binding that I also embellished with one of the ice blue flower accents.

If you would like to play along with our design team, just follow along the blog path.  I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way! The Blog Hop starts today, September 30th and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, October 1st.

***Prizes***
Hidden on FIVE of the designer's blogs is a Zva Creative  prize package!
Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Blog Hop post... you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. However, the more times you comment along the blog hop path, the more chances you will have to win.
The 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, October 2nd on Zva Creative's Facebook page!
We also thought it would be more fun to add even more chances to win our blog hop prize!

To increase your chances of winning:
- Comment to let us know that you posted on your Facebook page about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
- Comment to let us know that you "tweeted" about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
- Comment to let us know that you asked your local store to carry Zva creative products.  If they already do, that's fantastic, maybe you can suggest other products that they don't carry.

The blog hop begins here at Zva Creative's Facebook page
And your next stop is

Justina Tey

Enjoy!
Thank you for joining us!
