{DT} - Time To Celebrate

Hi everyone and happy Sunday :-)

Today I want to share this simple celebration card I created using a digi kit called 'Wellington' from The Digichick Store. I immediately fell in love with the cheery colors in this kit and that cute banner just cried to me: 'pick me' *lol*

The card is for our current Card Caravan challenge over at The Hybridchick, where we want to see you add a little bit (or a lot *g*) of sparkle/bling to your creations ... ha.. isn't that super easy? ;-))

card recipe:
  • stamp - Whimsy Stamps: 'Birthday Letter Seals' stamp set by Raindrop Echo Designs
  • pp and elements - 'Wellington Designer Kit' by Karen Lewis Designs
  • other supplies - Clairefontaine white cardstock, Kaisercraft clear rhinestone, foam tape from stash

{DT} - Winter Wonderland

Hi everyone and happy Sunday :-)

It's time for another Card Caravan Challenge
I'm your host this fortnight and since I love everything sparkle (especially around the holidays) I dare you to 'make it sparkle' :-)

If you'd like to play along, just hop on over to The Hybrid Chick and enter your creation there!

To create my card I used paper from 'Visions of Sugarplum' by Danielle Engebretson and sentiment rubber stamps from the new Whimsy Stamps 'Sleigh Ride' sentiment set by Raindrop Echo Design.

To create the locket behind the sentiment and the trim I just used some wool felt instead of cardstock/paper to cut them out! The die cuts I used are both from the 'Fleur de Lis Accents' die set by Spellbinders

I also added some blue rhinestones and Stardust Stickles (because that's the challenge: make it sparkle ;-) )

card recipe:
  • stamps - Whimsy Stamps: 'Sleigh Ride' sentiment set by Raindrop Echo Design
  • patterned papers - 'Visions of Sugarplums' by Danielle Engebretson
  • tools - AEG Mini sewing machine, Big Shot
  • other supplies - Spellbinders 'Fleur de Lis Accents', Spellbinders 'Classic Circles Large', Bazzill blue cardstock, Divine Twine Aqua baker's twine, Sew Sweet mullberry wool felt, Kaisercraft blue rhinestones, Ranger Stardust Stickles, Ranger Distress Broken China inks, foam tape from stash

{DT} - celebrate the moment

Hi everyone and happy Sunday :-)

Welcome to our next installment of The Hybrid Chick Card Caravan Challenge.
This next two weeks we want you to create 'something birthday' - I guess that's not too difficult, is it? ;-)

I created a card where I did some experimenting by mixing up styles that normally aren't used together *g*
I started with a 'shabby, vintage' looking background by choosing a blue floral background paper from 'The Sun Will Come Out' by Sugarplum Paperie and then distressed it with Walnut Stain Distress inks to give it that little shabby look. I also used my beloved seam binding and pearls, which normally is associated with the vintage look.

But I then ran a little crazy with some doodling ;-)  I recently discovered the blog from a super talented German lady: Janna Werner's Papiersalat. And she does doodling all the time and it looks so beautiful!
Well.. I also did some doodling myself .. ages ago .. but however, I totally went off of this when I began doing more cute cards a few years ago. But now that I've seen it again I wanted to incorporate some doodling into my card. Thanks for the inspiration, Janna :-)

If you are following me for some time now, you should know that I love experimenting and doing unexpected things ;-)  And even though this really is a crazy mix of styles, I kind of like the result, although. And I hope you like it a bit, too :-)

and a close up
(Where you can see that I have to practice doodling a little bit, because I made a little mistake with the circle doodling around the sentiment. But well, I think that's doodling: nothing perfect, but fun :-) )

card recipe:
  • stamps - Whimsy Stamps  'Birthday Letter Seals' rubber stamps by Raindrop Echo Design
  • coloring medium - Tombow Dual Brush pens, Sakura black and white gel pens, Distress inks in Broken China and Walnut Stain
  • patterend papers and flower element - 'The Sun Will Come Out' by Sugarplum Paperie
  • other supplies - Sew Sweet white crinkled seam binding, Kaisercraft orange rhinestones and blue halfpearl, Fiskars border punch, foam tape from stash

{DT} - Card Caravan Challenge and Whimsy Blog Hop

Hi everyone and happy Monday :)

We have a new Card Caravan Challenge started over at The Hybrid Chick, yesterday :-)
For the next two weeks, we want to see 'homemade' flowers somewhere on your cards :-)
As always you don't have to use stuff from The Digichick store, but we sure would love it, if you do ;-)

Here's my card using the adorable 'Emporium' collab kit by The Digichick Designers

now onto our
WHIMSY BLOG HOP

To create the blue rolled flower on the right side, I used one of the brand new Whimsy Stamps Shape EZ by TLC! The wonderful Tammy Louise Cunliff designed some awesome cutting files that can either be used with a digital die cutting machine or just being used as a template to cut it out by hand.

So to celebrate the launch of this brand new product line, there is a blog hop starting today, Monday 31st and ending on Sunday November 6th, noon EST.

For this hop we have several different prize draws. One lucky hopper will win a grand prize of a $25 gift certificate. In addition to this, we have hidden several surprise prizes throughout the hop, so be sure to leave a comment on every post along the hop to be entered into the surprise draws. All winners will be announced on the Whimsy Stamps blog after the blog hop has ended.
If you came here from the fabulous Stephanne Maraver, then you are on the right track. If you want to begin the hop, please hop over to Debbie Eastman's blog and start there.

To continue, please visit our last stop - the wonderful and super talented artist herself:

{CT} - Potion No 1

Hi everyone and happy Sunday!

I hope you all have such nice weather like we have:  it's cold outside but we have a wonderful blue sky and the sun is shining ... the perfect October day :)

Today there is a new Card Caravan challenge starting at The Hybrid Chick and this time we have a color challenge: Use green, purple and orange.

Well, to me this color combo screams 'Halloween' ;-) but you don't have to do a Halloween card or project! You can create whatever you like if only you use the colors! :)

To create this little project I used an old glass bottle where the Prima Flowers came in a few years ago :-)
I used some digital patterned papers and wordart from The Digichick store and also a ribbon and a decorative brad from Alyssiane that I got in a package from Two Peas in a Bucket for winning one of their challenges recently :-D

Can't wait to see what YOU will come up with and I hope to see your creation linked up in our challenge!

project recipe:
  • patterned papers - 'Hocus Pocus' by Cluster Queen Creations and geniaBeana, 'Daydreamer' by Danielle Engebretson
  • elements and wordart/stamp - 'Haunted - The Elements' by Mari Koegelenberg Creations
  • tools - Big Shot
  • other supplies - Nestabilities classic circles large, Alyssiane ribbon and brad, Glue Dots mini glue dots

{CT} - The Hybrid Chick Card Caravan Challenge - Autumn

Hi everyone and happy Sunday!

Thanks to all who participated in our last 'Card Caravan Challenge' at The Hybridchick!
I had so much fun visiting your blogs and looking at all your amazing creations!
Today another challenge is starting and we challenge you to do an 'AUTUMN' themed card (that can also include a 'Halloween' card *hint hint*)
Here's my autumnal card using papers and elements from the gorgeous 'Russet Riches' kit by Danielle Engebretson. The sentiment I used on the card is from Whimsy Stamps. It's a digital stamp set containing six sentiments and it's called 'Gratitude Sentiments' by Raindrop Echo Design.
We would be super happy if you'd decide to join in the fun in our Card Caravan Challenges over at The Hybrid Chick. Oh and you can use whatever products you like! You don't have to use products from The Digichick or not even digital! Please feel free to use whatever you like to...if only it fits our challenge theme, it's ok :) And the most important thing is: HAVE FUN! :)

{CT} Card Caravan Challenge #2 - Buttons

Hi everyone and happy Sunday :-)
I hope you're enjoying the weekend and I hope you'll be able to squeeze in some crafting time ;-)

There is a new challenge over at The Hybridchick starting today and I'm so proud to be your hostess for the next two weeks. As you might know, I looove buttons
So you will be not that much surprised that this is the theme I have chosen for my challenge:
Use one or more BUTTONS somewhere on your card  :-)

Here's my card using 'Treasured Moments' by Sugarplum Paperie and Sahlin Studio
I also used some buttons from the gorgeous Sew Sweet button bags, that are available here.

I hope you'll join me and the other DT members over at The Hybridchick and link your cards with BUTTONS
Can't wait to visit your blogs and see what you all will come up with!

a sparkly 'hello'

Hi everyone and happy Monday :)

Today I want to share a non-stamped card with you. I followed the sketch #110 from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and used papers from the 'All About Me' collab kit by The Digichick designers.

The sparkly 'hello' are made using glitter alphabet stickers from My Little Shoebox. Don't know if you can see the glitter properly in the photos but the lovely sparkle is definitely there and I love the look of it :)

The swirl and butterfly are cutting files from the Silhouette online store, that I cut with my Silhouette SD machine.
