{DT} - Time To Celebrate

Hi everyone and happy Sunday :-)

Today I want to share this simple celebration card I created using a digi kit called 'Wellington' from The Digichick Store. I immediately fell in love with the cheery colors in this kit and that cute banner just cried to me: 'pick me' *lol*

The card is for our current Card Caravan challenge over at The Hybridchick, where we want to see you add a little bit (or a lot *g*) of sparkle/bling to your creations ... ha.. isn't that super easy? ;-))

card recipe:
  • stamp - Whimsy Stamps: 'Birthday Letter Seals' stamp set by Raindrop Echo Designs
  • pp and elements - 'Wellington Designer Kit' by Karen Lewis Designs
  • other supplies - Clairefontaine white cardstock, Kaisercraft clear rhinestone, foam tape from stash

Gift Bag

Hi everyone and happy Friday :-)

Today I want to show you a gift bag I made some weeks ago, using the 'Emporium' digi kit by The Digichick Designers.

I made a huge paper flower by die cutting some pages of an old book and some tissue paper with the largest of the Spellbinders scalloped circles dies, then crumpled and misted them all with some blue Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists.

After drying I layered and secured them all with a huge pearl brad, then put some Stickles all around the edges of the flower.

Close up of the paper flower:
I hope you liked my little gift bag and wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

card recipe:
  • patterned papers - 'Emporium' by The Digichick Designers
  • tools - AEG Mini Sewing machine, Big Shot
  • other supplies - VBS kraft bag, Spellbinders scalloped circles large, May Arts white sheer ruffle ribbon, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Frost, Kaisercraft white pearl brad, Ranger Stickles Stardust, Ranger Distress inks Vintage Photo, white thread from stash, old book pages from stash, tissue paper from stash, Glue Dots Mini Glue Dots

{DT} - celebrate the moment

Hi everyone and happy Sunday :-)

Welcome to our next installment of The Hybrid Chick Card Caravan Challenge.
This next two weeks we want you to create 'something birthday' - I guess that's not too difficult, is it? ;-)

I created a card where I did some experimenting by mixing up styles that normally aren't used together *g*
I started with a 'shabby, vintage' looking background by choosing a blue floral background paper from 'The Sun Will Come Out' by Sugarplum Paperie and then distressed it with Walnut Stain Distress inks to give it that little shabby look. I also used my beloved seam binding and pearls, which normally is associated with the vintage look.

But I then ran a little crazy with some doodling ;-)  I recently discovered the blog from a super talented German lady: Janna Werner's Papiersalat. And she does doodling all the time and it looks so beautiful!
Well.. I also did some doodling myself .. ages ago .. but however, I totally went off of this when I began doing more cute cards a few years ago. But now that I've seen it again I wanted to incorporate some doodling into my card. Thanks for the inspiration, Janna :-)

If you are following me for some time now, you should know that I love experimenting and doing unexpected things ;-)  And even though this really is a crazy mix of styles, I kind of like the result, although. And I hope you like it a bit, too :-)

and a close up
(Where you can see that I have to practice doodling a little bit, because I made a little mistake with the circle doodling around the sentiment. But well, I think that's doodling: nothing perfect, but fun :-) )

card recipe:
  • stamps - Whimsy Stamps  'Birthday Letter Seals' rubber stamps by Raindrop Echo Design
  • coloring medium - Tombow Dual Brush pens, Sakura black and white gel pens, Distress inks in Broken China and Walnut Stain
  • patterend papers and flower element - 'The Sun Will Come Out' by Sugarplum Paperie

{DT} - Card Caravan Challenge and Whimsy Blog Hop

Hi everyone and happy Monday :)

We have a new Card Caravan Challenge started over at The Hybrid Chick, yesterday :-)
For the next two weeks, we want to see 'homemade' flowers somewhere on your cards :-)
As always you don't have to use stuff from The Digichick store, but we sure would love it, if you do ;-)

Here's my card using the adorable 'Emporium' collab kit by The Digichick Designers

now onto our
WHIMSY BLOG HOP

To create the blue rolled flower on the right side, I used one of the brand new Whimsy Stamps Shape EZ by TLC! The wonderful Tammy Louise Cunliff designed some awesome cutting files that can either be used with a digital die cutting machine or just being used as a template to cut it out by hand.

So to celebrate the launch of this brand new product line, there is a blog hop starting today, Monday 31st and ending on Sunday November 6th, noon EST.

For this hop we have several different prize draws. One lucky hopper will win a grand prize of a $25 gift certificate. In addition to this, we have hidden several surprise prizes throughout the hop, so be sure to leave a comment on every post along the hop to be entered into the surprise draws. All winners will be announced on the Whimsy Stamps blog after the blog hop has ended.
If you came here from the fabulous Stephanne Maraver, then you are on the right track. If you want to begin the hop, please hop over to Debbie Eastman's blog and start there.

To continue, please visit our last stop - the wonderful and super talented artist herself:

{DT} - Home Decor

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Thursday :-)

I hope you are doing well while we here in the very South West of Germany  are 'melting away' with degrees around 100°F (around 36/37°C). It's nearly impossible to sit down and create something and I hope the heat will be over soon.

Today I want to share this little home decor project I did for the Whimsy Stamps Inspirations Magazine in August. You can find it here and the magazine has over 100 pages full packed with lots of inspirational cards, other projects and tutorials  -  and it's free!

For my 'bunch of flowers' I used various flowers from the 'Garden Flowers Set' and paper pieced them with patterned papers from the 'A Is For Apple' collab kit by The Digichick Designers.

Thanks for stopping by and I am wishing you all a wonderful day!

{DT} - amazing

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Sunday :-)

Today I want to share with you a simple yet happy card that I made using some digital papers, elements and doodle clip mats (everything by eNKay Design, who is a guest at The Digichick for July) and a 3/4'' orange/white striped twill ribbon by May Arts (available at Sew Sweet) as well as lots of buttons from the 'Spring Mixed Button Collection' from Sew Sweet

What I think, you can't tell from the picture is that I poked the 'amazing' doodle with a paper piecing tool for a little bit more interest. Looks nice IRL, but I wasn't able to catch it in the photo.

Wishing you all a wonderful and sunny Sunday :-)

your kindness is appreciated

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Thursday :-)

Yesterday we had lots of rain.. but it's still sticky and it has not really cooled down.. it's that kind of weather where I tend to get a headache.... *mmmpf*

But now onto some more nice things :-)

Today I want to share a card with you that I made with an image from a new stamp company: 'Some Odd Girl' !
Ha! I hear you calling: 'WHAT?'... 'a new stamp company???'
Ok ok ok.. I admit it.. it's NOT a new company.. it was only new to me! *lol*
I'm sure many of you know these stamps already while I must have been living under a rock not having any of their adorable images until yesterday *lol*

Soooo.... here's my very first card using a Some Odd Girl image - this sweet little girl is called 'Sunny Tia'
I colored her using Tombows, some watercolor pencils for some additional shading and a little bit of Stickles to highlight the flower in her hands. I then cut her out trimming very close and put her on foam pads.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I would be delighted if you take the time to leave me a comment :-) Have a wonderful day, my sweet friends!

card receipe:
  • stamps - 'Sunny Tia' by Some Odd Girl, sentiment from 'Card Sentiments Digital Stamps' by Arty Pants

{DT} - Fairy At Sunset

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Wednesday :-)

Oh my goodness.. it's sooooo hot over here.. around 35°C (95°F) during the last days (with high humidity) ...*phew*... feels like we are melting away, soon!!!

But anyway.. 'the show must go on' *lol* and here's a card with one of the wonderful and unique stamp images from Jasmine Becket-Griffith available at Crafts and Me! The image I used here on this card is 'Fairy at Sunset' and I think she's super adorable! Love here whirlwind of hair and her dress made from leaves :-)

I put some Stardust Stickles on her wings and took the picture while the glitter glue was still wet.. so the sparkle is more subtle now IRL than it looks here on the photo. Maybe I'll get a chance to take another picture of it... (but can't promise, because my eldest sons are in Rome and they have taken my little digi cam with them. So I only have my Canon 1000D here to take photos and I guess I have to charge the battery first *lol*)

The sentiment is from a last years store stamp set released by Whiff of Joy while I was a guest DT member for them :-)

Now I hope for a little cooling-down today (it looks like a thunderstorm is coming toda) and hope to see you again soon!

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek at my work :-)
And if you would be so generous to leave a comment I would be really happy, because your comments are always very much appreciated! :-)))

and one more birthday card BUT....

.... BUT this time with a little touch of vintage ;-)

Hi everyone and happy Sunday!

I hope you all have a great weekend so far! The weather here in the very Southwest of Germany is ugly.. it's cold and rainy and just *brrr* ... but after all it's perfect for sitting on the crafting table and create cards, isn't it?! ;-)

So.. here's another birthday card. But this time it's not clean, not simple, not even cute .. but with a little touch of vintage :-)

Love this bird collage stamp that Donna Wells of Arty Pants designed. So as soon as I saw this awesome stamp, I knew I had to create a card with this beautiful collage stamp.

The card might look simple without much embellishments but it was a lot of work and thoughts going into this card anyhow ;-)  First I distressed the stamped collage with various Distress inks, then I colored parts of the stamped collage. I stamped the birds twice, colored them again, cut them out trimming closely and put them on foam pads for more dimension and interest.

The frame was created using a digi cutting file from the Silhouette store.
I distressed all cardstock (card base and cut out frame) with some acrylic paints and crayons.
I also highlighted parts of the collage and frame with a white gel pen.
The 'Happy Birthday' was created using a Dymo Label maker.

I like the result but I am not happy with the pictures. They just don't do the card justice.. but well..can't change the weather at the moment and today the daylight lamp wasn't any help, too *sigh*

Here's an additional close up of the cut out birds
Wishing you all a wonderful, SUNNY and creative Sunday, my sweet blogging friends!

  • stamp - 'Bird Collage' by Arty Pants Digital Stamps
  • coloring medium - Mondeluz watercolor pencils, Crayola glitter crayons, Sakura white gel pen, black acrylic paint from stash
  • tools - Silhouette SD machine, Dymo Label maker
  • other supplies - dark grey cardstock from stash, frame cutting file from Silhouette Store, foam pads from stash
