{DT} - Sweet Selena

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Friday :-)

Oh my gosh .. I feel so bad, because I totally forgot to post my card for this weeks 'Crafts and Me Challenge' where Teresa wants to see flower(s) somewhere on your card.

You may not see it very well, but there IS a flower on my card... a teeny tiny little red 'gem' flower in 'Sweet Selena's hair ;-)

For the background of the focal point (which is Hannah Lynn's 'Sweet Selena') I used some 'Black Magic' Core'dinations Cardstock, ran it through my Big Shot using a Cuttlebug embossing folder and then sanded the embossed lines to bring out the pastel pink. I think you cannot see it properly in the picture but it's really a neat effect IRL :)

For a finishing touch I added some crinkled Caviar seam binding , added a red button and adhered the button and a metal strawberry charm to the ribbon using some pink button twine.

{DT} - Genevieve

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Wednesday :-)

I hope you had a great week so far.

Since it's Wednesday it means another challenge at Crafts and Me Challenges, where we want you to use your 'favorite stamp'.

Well I admit it.. the stamp I used on my card is not the favorite stamp (because I love so many stamps, that I just cannot decide which one is the favorite one *lol*), but it's a stamp from one of my all time favorite stamp image designers: Hannah Lynn! I so adore her work and I used the adorable 'Genevieve' to create my card:

{DT} - Fairy At Sunset

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Wednesday :-)

Oh my goodness.. it's sooooo hot over here.. around 35°C (95°F) during the last days (with high humidity) ...*phew*... feels like we are melting away, soon!!!

But anyway.. 'the show must go on' *lol* and here's a card with one of the wonderful and unique stamp images from Jasmine Becket-Griffith available at Crafts and Me! The image I used here on this card is 'Fairy at Sunset' and I think she's super adorable! Love here whirlwind of hair and her dress made from leaves :-)

I put some Stardust Stickles on her wings and took the picture while the glitter glue was still wet.. so the sparkle is more subtle now IRL than it looks here on the photo. Maybe I'll get a chance to take another picture of it... (but can't promise, because my eldest sons are in Rome and they have taken my little digi cam with them. So I only have my Canon 1000D here to take photos and I guess I have to charge the battery first *lol*)

The sentiment is from a last years store stamp set released by Whiff of Joy while I was a guest DT member for them :-)

Now I hope for a little cooling-down today (it looks like a thunderstorm is coming toda) and hope to see you again soon!

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek at my work :-)
And if you would be so generous to leave a comment I would be really happy, because your comments are always very much appreciated! :-)))

{DT} - Dandelions

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday :)

Today, the rubber DT from Crafts and Me Challenges has set up a new challenge for you - the theme for this week is: STITCHING
No matter if you want to do real stitching/sewing or just faux..  every type of 'stitching' is ok :)

Here's my card and I did some faux stitching around the card. I hope you can see it in the picture:

I used the new 'Melody Wishes You...' stamp by Lemon Shortbread and again cut her out, trimming closely and put her on foam pads. The background was created using the 'Make A Wish' bundle from Ju Kneipp Designs. I thought the papers and elements with all it's Dandelions was the perfect match for the stamp image and I loved the soft colors in this kit, too :)

Here's a close up of the layered paper flower I made using circles in different sizes I cut out from the patterned papers and distressed them a bit:

Oh.. and if you have a minute and don't mind, please read this post and give me a little support by sharing your thoughts with me via the comment section or just participating in my poll (it's anonymous - I cannot see who voted for which option)  - thanks so much for your help! :)

challenges:

card receipe:
  • stamp - 'Melody Wishes You...' by Lemon Shortbread (Crafts and Me)
  • coloring medium - Tombow Dual Brush Pens and Mondeluz watercolor pencils
  • design papers - 'Make A Wish Bundle' by Ju Kneipp Designs, available here and here
  • other supplies - purple crystal brad by Making Memories, white lace from stash, blue grosgrain ribbon from stash, white gel pen from Sakura, paper piercing tool and foam pads from stash, Glue Dots

{DT} - The Bride

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday - again :)

As promised..... it's Wednesday and I want to show you a card that's NOT clean and NOT (so) simple *giggle*

It's for the challenge over at Crafts and Me Challenges where the amazing digi team is challenging us and YOU to create something and 'bling it on'.

Maybe you cannot see it too good in the pictures, but actually there's some bling on my card:
I put Stickles around the inner circle in the background (the papers are from Stolen Moments' 'Tenderly' kit), there are some tiny crystals around the pearl pins and I used a glitter gel pen to highlight 'Melody The Bride's dress and her jewlery :)

I used some 'Flower Soft' (it's my first time I'm using it, even though I have this in my stash for over a year now *lol*) to pimp her up und to make her bridal bouquet and the floral wreath around her head looking a bit more 'real'
I stamped and colored Melody The Bride and then cut her out trimming closely and put her on foam pads for more dimension - hope you can see it in the next close up:
and one last close up of the bow with pearl pins (I so love the vintage feel of the crinkled ribbon together with some pearl pins)

Thanks for coming along and visiting my blog - please stop by later again, when I have wonderful to share (together with another non-clean and simple card ;-) )

challenges:

card receipe:
  • stamps - Melody The Bride by Lemon Shortbread (Crafts and Me), Grunge stamps from Stempelglede, French Script background stamp from Stampin' Up!
  • color mediums - Tombow Dual Brush pens, Sakura clear Stardust gel pen
  • design papers - Tenderly by Stolen Moments
  • tools - Big Shot, Silhouette SD machine
  • other supplies - cardstock from Dani Peuss, Nestabilities classic circle die, Doilies cutting file from The Cutting Files, crinkled ribbon from my stash (etsy), Stickles from Ranger, pearl pins from Jenni Bowlin, foam pads from stash, Glue Dots

{DT} Romantic Flower Fairy

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday :)

I hope you all have a great week!

Today I want to show you a fairy card that I made for this weeks Crafts and Me Challenge, where Tracy wants you to 'stamp something'... that's an easy one, isn't it!? :-))))

For my card I used one of the beautiful new rubber stamps from Crafts and Me. This one is designed by Sara Burrier and it's called 'The Leap'. I love how the beautiful fairy is surrounded by all the doves with hearts. Isn't she adorable?
I did a lot of distressing on this card.. not sure if you can see it properly on the photos. I put some cream acryilic paint around all edges and also on the swirl die cut. I then did some more distressing using some purple chalks.
This also is a super sparkly card: I used a clear glitter gel pen to highlight the wings. There's also some golden shimmer on her corsage. I put some glitter glue (Stickles) around the edges of the background paper and also added some glitter to the rosebud (see close up picture):
  • stamps - The Leap by Sara Burrier (Crafts and Me)
  • color medium - Tombow Dual Brush pens, Mondeluz watercolor pencils, chalks, cream acrylic paint from stash
  • design papers - Carefree Paper Prints Pack by KimB Design
  • tools - Silhouette SD, Big Shot
  • other supplies - cardstock from American Crafts, cutting file from Silhouette online store, Nestabilities Label dies, Stardust Stickles from ranger, selfadhesive half pearls from Kaisercrafts, paper rosebud from Wild Orchid Crafts, foam tape from stash, Glue Dots

{DT} - Thanks a Latte

Hi everyone and happy Thursday :)

Today I want to show you a card where I used my very first Kraftin' Kimmie stamp :)
I have seen them a lot but never owned one myself until I got me one from Crafts and Me.
This one is called 'Angie' and it comes in a set together with two sentiments and this cute pair of slippers I used here on my card as a cut out element on the lower right side.

I also wanted to let you know that we have a new challenge going on at Crafts and Me Challenges since yesterday where the digi team is challenging you to use 'punches'. That's the reason why I used one of my age old punches to create the little daisy on the upper right side... and I'm surprised with the result... never have thought this little daisy punch could look so pretty on a card ;-)

challenges:

card receipe:
  • stamps - Kraftin' Kimmies 'Angie'
  • color medium - Tombow Dual Brush pens, Mondeluz watercolor pencils
  • patterened papers - Summer Paisleys Paper by Wishing Well Creations
  • tools - Silhouette SD
  • other supplies - cutting files from Samantha Walker for Silhouette, cardstock from Amercian Crafts, crinkled ribbon from etsy, pearl pin from Jeni Bowlin, Daisy punch from EK Success, selfadhesive crystal from Hero Arts, foam pads from stash

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday :)

As promised yesterday.. here's my second post for this week ;)

At Crafts and Me Challenges we have a new challenge starting today. The lovely Gina is your host for this week and she chose 'gems and pearls' as the theme :)

I don't know if you can see it properly, but I have used a 'gem' (selfadhesive crystal) for the center of the flower and I also used a pearl pin :)

For my card I used the adorable 'Creekside Magic' rubber stamp designed by Molly Harrison for Crafts and Me. I adore Molly Harrison's artwork for a long time now and never would have dreamt of seeing her work made into rubber stamps.. that's so cool and it was such a pleasure to color this beauty :)

First Post in May

Hi everyone and happy Friday :)

Oh my goodness... I hardly can believe it's May 12th and this is my first post for this month *woops*
How could this happen?

Well.. as some of you may know already, my dog Mexx and I are a Search and Rescue Dog team of the German Red Cross. And therefore we have to take an SAR exam every 18
months. This always makes me 'sick' weeks ahead of the date ;-/
Well... now it's over... the exam was at the end of April and we passed it succesfully *yay*
But after passing the exam I felt absolutely drained and totally lost ALL of my (creative) mojo :-/

BTW: For all of you interested.. this is my dog Mexx :)
(and the back of the head you can see in the lower right corner is me *lol*)

But now that blogger is back, my mojo and I am, too *g*

Soooo... with a 'little' delay....
here's my card for the actual CRAFTS AND ME CHALLENGE (punches).

I used the adorable rubber stamp 'Vanessa' by Hannah Lynn for my card and the papers are from digi paper packs by Graham Like The Cracker: Footloose and Fancy Solid Papers and Footloose and Fancy Worn Papers. I colored the stamped image with Tombow Dual Brush pens, Mondeluz watercolor pencils and some Stickles in 'Waterfall' (glitter with a little hint of blue).

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you will have a wonderful, sunny and relaxed weekend :)

Moments With You Are Magical

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday :)

We have a new challenge starting as of today at Crafts and Me Challenges. This week the amazingly talented Angela is hosting the challenge and she chose
Distress/Vintage

Ohhhh... this is just perfect for me.. I soooo love distressing :-)

I used the adorable 'Rachel Anderson's Lily of the Valley' stamp available at Crafts and Me

I really did a LOT of distressing on this card ;-)
Not only did I distress all the paper edges (the design paper is from the digi paper pack called 'drip-drop {the papers}' by Joyful Heart Designs available at The Digichick). But I also used Gesso and Distress inks to distress the papers further more, and also the paper flowers and even the twine :)

close up

The sentiment is from the new 'Everyday Mini Postage Stamps' set by Whimsy Stamps. I stamped the 'magical' sentiment, cut out the inner rectangle and then die cut a piece of black cardstock using the coordinating 'Mini Postage Stamp Die' by Whimsy Stamps

Birthday Card For a Little Fireman

Hi everyone and happy Saturday :)

As some of you may know, I'm a mother to four boys .. the two 'little' ones are aged 6 and 8 and so I am in need of many birthday cards for boys (because they are invited to other little boys birthday partys a lot *smile*)

Soooo .. here's one more for my (actually not existing *g*) stash... because I'm always happy to have a card on hand for the next birthday invitation my boys get ;-)

I used the super cute new digi stamp 'Fireman Bear' by Meljen's Design and one of the stamps from the 'Party Mini Letter Seals' rubber stamp set by Raindrop Echo.

I did some paper piecing on the firemanbear's coat using a blue paper :)

The papers I used for the card are from the new 'Boyish Charm Papers' by Elise's Pieces. I love her kits and papers because she really is a master in doing 'boyish' stuff!

A little bit of distressing using Distress inks around the edges of the patterened background paper and around the circle of the focal image, then some faux stitching.. that's it.. pretty easy :)

Have a great weekend everyone!

  • stamps - Fireman Bear by Meljen's Designs, Party Mini Letter Seals by Raindrop Echo Designs

Fairy in Blue

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday :)

Sorry for not being around much lately, but I have really so much going on IRL at the moment.. I hope to be back in full swing at the beginning of May!

But I managed to create a card this week *yay* ;-) and I used the adorable and oh so gorgeous 'Glacier Lily Fairy' rubber stamp by Hannah Lynn available at Crafts and Me Stamps.

Isn't this fairy just beautiful? I just love her face and all the wonderful details on this image ...

It is the second time I use her on a card ('cause I really LOVE her). This time she is coloured in blues, last time I coloured her in red and yellow.. and no matter what 'dress' (color) she 'wears'.. she's always looking great, doesn't she?! ;-)

The design papers in the background are from the digi paper pack 'Carefree Paper prints Pack' by KimB Designs. I so adore Kims paper designs! The paper lily was originally white and I sprayed it with some blue Glimmer Mist spray and colored the seed heads with Tombows in yellow and orange.

Oh and don't forget to stop by our Crafts and Me Challenges blog, because there's a new challenge starting today :)

  • stamp - Glacier Lily Fairy from Crafts and Me Stamps
  • color medium - Tombow Dual Brush pens, Mondeluz watercolor pencils, chalks
  • design papers - Carefree Paper prints Pack by KimB Designs
  • tools - Big Shot
  • other supplies - Nestabilities Label dies, black cardstock from stash, white lace from Wild Orchid Crafts, blue crinkled ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique (etsy), white paper lily from Wild Orchid Crafts, blue Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angel, white pearl pin from Jenni Bowlin, foam tape from stash, Glue Dots
