{GDT} - Paper and Such Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge

Hi everyone and happy Tuesday :-)

As I told you already at the beginning of the month, I'm a guest designer for Paper and Such this month :-)

And every two weeks on Tuesday there's a new challenge starting over on their blog - and today it's a 'Tic Tac Toe' challenge - here's the sheet:

Simply choose one row (horizontally, vertically or diagonally) and use the items listed in this row.

I chose the row with 'ribbon - flower - lace' for my card :)

To create my card, I stamped the mum from the Fall Flowers stamp set directly onto kraft cardstock (as well as the sentiment that's also included in this stamp set) and colored it with my Mondeluz watercolor pencils (but without using any water!)

Happy Halloween

Hi everyone and happy Monday :)
I hope you enjoyed the weekend and had a great start into the new week.
Well.. today is my first day at work again, after having two weeks off... *mmmm*

As I told you some days ago, I love all things Halloween and I purchased some Halloween goodies recently, so I had to create another Halloween card ;-)

I think you cannot see it very well in the picture, so I took a close up of the star on the upper left side: I put some Diamond Glaze onto the cardstock die cut star and it's such a neat effect.. looks like an epoxy sticker... nice and shiny :-) Hope you can see it in this picture (or even imagine it ;-) )
card recipe:
  • stamps - Inque Boutique ('Happy')
  • patterned papers - My Mind's Eye 'Mischievous' collection
  • cardstock die cuts  - My Mind's Eye 'Spooked' collection
  • tools - Making Memories mini stapler
  • other supplies - American Crafts cardstock, My Mind's Eye 'Mischievous' collection brad, Divine Baker's Twine, Diamond Glaze, Making Memories mini staples orange, Kaisercraft rhinestones in black and orange, dimensional adhesive from stash
challenges:

Thank so much for stopping by and taking the time to view my card and maybe you'll be so kind and leave me a comment before you go.. every comment brightens my day... thank you :-)

Lily of the Valley

Hi everyone and happy Saturday!
I hope you enjoy the weekend with sunshine, laughter and maybe a little bit of creativity, too :)

Today I want to share a card with you, where I used a LOTV image for the very first time!
Got some LOTV stamped images as a RAK from a stamping friend around one year ago and never had the time to do something with them - even though I really adore these cuties - such a shame!

But FINALLY I did it *lol*

So here is my card for this weeks LOTV challenge
The sentiment was created using Silhouette Studio, fonts (Dagobert for 'M' and 'You' and I think it was Arial or something simple like that for the 'iss') and then cut it out with the Silhouette SD machine

card recipe:
  • stamps - Lily of the Valley
  • coloring medium - Tombow Dual Brus pens, Mondeluz watercolor pencils
  • patterned papers - Basic Grey 'Pheobe' 6x6 paper pad
  • fonts - Dagobert and Arial(?)
  • tools - Silhouette SD machine
  • other supplies - Sew Sweet Elderberry crinkled seam binding, Sakura white gel pen, Ranger Stickles in Stardust, Hero Arts purple rhinestones

our friendship is always in season

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday :-)

I like My Mind's Eye products and therefore I spy their blog daily ;-)
Two days ago they posted a great card sketch on their blog and I just couldn't resist and had to play with it :-)

Here's my result using 'Stella & Rose - Mabel' 6x6 papers and 'Lush' rhinestones in blue

This is the sketch provided by My Mind's Eye (created by Anam Stubbington)

{CT} - Get Well Soon - New Challenge at The Hybridchick

Hi everyone and happy Sunday :-)
I hope you are enjoying your weekend! It's raining cats and dogs here (after a super hot and sunny day, yesterday.. so that's ok for me ;-) ).

Today I have an exciting announcement for you:
The Hybridchick
is starting to host bi-weekly challenges :)
You don't have to use items from The Digichick (even though we would love to see you using them ;) ) but anyone can participate by following the challenge theme.

Our first 'Hybrid Chick Card Caravan' challenge is to use TWINE somewhere on your card. Easy, isn't it?! :)
And there is also an awesome prize to win: A sampler pack of bakers twine sponsored by The Twinery!

Here is my card using patterned papers and elements from 'Sunshiny Day' designer kit by Karen Lewis and a sentiment from 'Card Sentiments 2' by Arty Pants.

I printed the kite a second time, cutting it out trimming closely and put it on foam pads. I then used some Divine Baker's Twine to create the tail of the kite.

Thanks for stopping by today and I am wishing you a wonderful day full of laughter and joy! :-)

{DT} - Hey Good Lookin' ;-))

Hi everyone and happy Friday (again)

I have another card to share with you today (for the Paper and Such / CAS-ual Fridays post, please scroll down)

As I told you yesterday, there's a new artist at Whimsy Stamp: LiaStampz!

I just **love** her style! Her images just makes me smile!
Maybe this is not for everyone but I think her images are quirky, fun, whimsical and also cute and they are .... unique! :-)

So I had to create this 'back to school' card with her 'Sean' stamp set

What do you think about this 'good lookin' sweet heart? ;-)))))

card recipe:
  • stamps - Whimsy Stamps 'Sean' stamp set by LiaStampz
  • coloring medium - Tombow dual brush pens, Mondeluz watercolor pencils

{GDT} - CAS-ual Friday sponsored by Paper and Such

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Friday :-)
Are you ready for the weekend? I sure am! :-))))))

I have been asked by the lovely Julie Smith to be a guest designer for Paper and Such in September - thanks Julie :-)

'Paper and Such' is sponsoring the 'CAS-ual Fridays' challenge this week and I'm sure you don't want to miss this challenge, because this week you can win a 20$ GC for the Paper and Such online store!

CFC18:  Create a Clean And Simple project inspired by a book, and use the colors black, white and red.

So here's my card using the 'Deer Dad' stamp set from Paper and Such, which will be released next week!
So don't forget to pop on over to the Paper and Such store next week to see all the awesome new releases they will have.

I have to admit this was a huge challenge for me. I love CAS style cards but black-white-red is NOT my favorite color combo *lol* but as soon as I saw this adorable deer stamp I knew what I wanted to do - and here's the result:

My inspiration for this card came from the book 'The Hidden Life of Deer: Lessons from the Natural World' by Elizabetz Marshall Thomas

{DT} - Home Decor

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Thursday :-)

I hope you are doing well while we here in the very South West of Germany  are 'melting away' with degrees around 100°F (around 36/37°C). It's nearly impossible to sit down and create something and I hope the heat will be over soon.

Today I want to share this little home decor project I did for the Whimsy Stamps Inspirations Magazine in August. You can find it here and the magazine has over 100 pages full packed with lots of inspirational cards, other projects and tutorials  -  and it's free!

For my 'bunch of flowers' I used various flowers from the 'Garden Flowers Set' and paper pieced them with patterned papers from the 'A Is For Apple' collab kit by The Digichick Designers.

Thanks for stopping by and I am wishing you all a wonderful day!

Since I'm on my way to work, I'll keep this post super short!

Shoot for the moon. Even if you fail, you'll land among the stars

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Wednesday :-)

I love this quote fom Brian Littrell and have used it a couple of times on cards, now.
Here is my newest version of it on this card made with the adorable patterned papers from October Afternoon and stamps from a clear stamp set by Bo Bunny.
I stamped and colored the stars and then cut them out trimming closely and set one of them on a pop dot for dimension and some interest. The sentiment was created using a little Dymo label tool and red tape

Thanks for stopping by and I am wishing you all a wonderful week full of creativity and joy!

mini cards and some exciting news :-)

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Sunday :-)

First of all I am not able to help but have to brag a little bit, because I'm soooo excited!
Today I got a mail from a CARDS magazine editor who requested one of my cards for the January issue. After I had my very first request for a printed magazine last month (for CARDS December ;-) ) I am really super duper excited to have another card picked *yay*

Ok.. now onto the boring 'everday' creative stuff *lol*
Today I want to show you two 'minis' .. I had soooo much fun creating these cuties.
The papers are leftovers from Bo Bunny 'Ad Lib' 6x6 paper pad, I recently used for this card.

I stamped the grass on green patterned paper and cut it out, then did some faux stitching and added the grass to the card using some dimensional adhesive. I also stamped the little dog, colored him with brown Tombows and then adhered him behind the grass. This card is 2 x 2 inches small :-)

For the other card, I stamped the tree and bird on white papers, cut them out, trimming closesly and colored them with Tombows. I also adhered them with dimensional adhesive to the card. I let the bird sit on the twine. This card is 2 3/8 x 2 3/8 inches small.

I hope you'll enjoy your Sunday, my lovelies :-)

Today I want to show you a card that I made for a 'monochromatic' challenge.

  • inks - ColorBox blue pigment inks from ColorQueue
  • patterned papers - October Afternoon '5 & Dime'

{DT} - Sit Reflect Breathe

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Wednesday :-)

Have you seen there is a blog hop going on at Whimsy Stamps to celebrate the new digi releases in August?!
There are lots of adorable new images from Crissy Armstrong, Moon Cookie Gallery, StampArt Design by Kathryn and Meljen's Designs. Plus you can win up to five digi images of your choice if you participate in the hop! The hop starts on the Whimsy Inspiartions Blog, right HERE

I am not part of the blog hop this month but wanted to show you a card I made with one of the beautiful new images by Moon Cookie Gallery. It's called 'Summer Shade' and I combined it with a sentiment from the 'On Thoughts' sentiment set by Raindrop Echo Designs.

And here are some additional close ups

I put on Stickles on the center of the flowers in the tree
I think the sentiment is just perfect for the tree:
and another close up to show you the ribbon, button and twine.. I really like the earthy feel of it :)

Wishing you all a wonderful Wendesday!

Christmas in July

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Monday :-)

I hope your start into the new week was great!
Mine was not so good, because I have a (bit painful) eye infection and I now have to take antibiotic eye drops and hope they'll help soon.

But however .. I can't live without cardmaking respectively blogging ;-)
And I did some projects during the last week and over the weekend, so I can show you some things here on my blog anyway :-)

I think we all know the phenomenon of Christmas is coming 'suddenly' and not having done enough Christmas cards?! ;-) So I thought I'd start creating mine right now in the middle of summer :-)
So here is my first Christmas card for the year
ETA: *lol*.. crazy me... totally missed it's AUGUST already.. so the title of the post should be 'Christmas in August'... sorry ;-))))

card receipe:
  • stamps - Hero Arts
  • patterned papers - Basic Grey 'Wassail' 6x6 paper pad
  • cardstock - Bazzill in kraft
  • other supplies - Versafine ink in Onyx Black, Versamark ink, Divine Baker's Twine in Cherry , Stickles in red, Christmas tree metal charm from stash
