Today I want to share a scrapbook page and a short video on how I made it.

Heute möchte ich Euch ein Scrapbooking Layout zeigen. Dazu gibt's außerdem ein kurzes Video indem ich Euch zeige, wie ich es gemacht habe.

Aber bevor ich Euch das zeige, möchte ich Euch noch einmal daran erinnern das Google Reader ab morgen nicht mehr verfügbar ist!!!  Falls Ihr weiterhin Updates meines Blogs bequem in Eurer Mailbox oder über einen Reader lesen wollt, wäre die einfachste Möglichkeit Euren RSS Feed von Google Reader nach Bloglovin' zu importieren. This was my second round entry for the Spellbinders DT contest.
I scrapped pictures of my oldest son Daniel when he was 1 year old.
Daniel recently turned 21(!!!) 
Oh my goodness...... am I really so old? *eek*

Nun aber zurück zu meinem Scrapbook Layout:
Es handelt sich hierbei um meinen Beitrag für Runde 2 im Spellbinders DT Contest.
Ich habe hier Fotos meines ältesten Sohnes Daniel verscrappt.
Damals war er gerade ein Jahr alt und kürzlich hat er seinen 21.(!!!) Geburtstag gefeiert!!!
Ach Du  meine Güte... bin ich wirklich schon so alt? *ojeojeoje*

Favorite Snapshot

Steffi (our DT coordinator at Scrapbook Werkstatt) has created this versatile sketch  for our monthly forums event called "monthly starter" (oh my.. I hope this makes sense in english *lol*)
And as soon as I saw the sketch, I thought to myself: "hey, that is looking so easy... even you can do it" ;-)

Steffi, unsere DT Koordinatorin bei Scrapbook-Werkstatt, hat diesen tollen und vielseitigen Sketch für unsere "Monatsstarter"-Forumsaktion erstellt.
Und als ich den Sketch gesehen habe, dachte ich so bei mir: "Der sieht so einfach aus, das schaffst selbst Du" ;-)

My Charming Boy

 
Hi everyone and happy Tuesday :)
Today I am sharing a scrapbook page with you.. yes.. it's true *lol*
I know I am very rarely doing LOs but from time to time I am flipping through the old pictures of my sons and find one or some I just have to create a LO with. And so here's my page with a picture of my youngest who is turning 8 in December.. wow... time flies....
BTW: I need a little bit of practice taking pictures of such "huge" projects like a LO....

Heute zeige ich Euch ein Scrapbook Layout..ja.. es ist wirklich wahr *lol*
Ich weiß, ich mache ja wirklich selten LOs, aber von Zeit zu Zeit schaue ich mir die alten Fotos meiner Söhne durch und dann finde ich meist eines oder mehrer, bei denn ich finde, das die einfach verscrappt werden müssen. Also kommt hier mal wieder eine Page mit dem Foto meines Jüngsten, der im Dezember auch schon acht wird.. meine Güte, wie die Zeit verfliegt....
Und nebenbei bemerkt: Ich brauche dringend etwas Übung beim fotografieren solch "großer" Projekte wie LOs....

2011 - A Summer at Home

Hi everyone and happy Friday :-)
 I have not created a layout for some time now and decided I just have to do one with the new "Weltenbummler" (= globetrotter in english) collection designed by Stephanie Berger for Scrapbook Werkstatt.
This is an amazing collection with beautiful patterned papers, clear stamp sets and journaling tags.
So I just had to create a page with these ;-)


Since we have two dogs and four children, we don't often do traveling but rather stay at home during the holidays. But -if the weather is fine- that's also much fun!
On my layout I did the journaling on the back of the tag!
The layout is 8.5x11... it seems I like this format better than the huge 12x12

Ich habe jetzt schon länger kein Layout mehr gemacht und habe beschlossen, das ich unbedingt eines mit der entzückenden "Weltenbummler" Kollektion machen muss, welche von Stephanie Berger für die Scrapbook Werkstatt designed wurde, gestalten muss!

Die Kollektion ist wirklich toll mit vielen schönen gemusterten Papieren, Acrylstempeln und Journaling Blättern!

Also musste ich jetzt einfach mal eine Seite damit gestalten ;-)

Da wir zwei Hunde und vier Kinder haben, fahren wir nicht oft in Urlaub, sondern bleiben auch öfter mal zuhause während der Ferien. Aber -solange das Wetter schön ist- auch das macht immer viel Spaß!

Auf meinem Layout ist das Journaling hinten auf dem Tag zu finden!

Das Layout ist 8,5x11 Inches groß.... es scheint, das mir dieses Format irgendwie besser liegt als das große 12x12

LO: Narri-Narro!

Hi everyone and happy Friday :)

Today I want to show you a layout about our 'Carnival' traditions we have here in the Black Forest
I don't know a better word than 'Carnival' for this event, but I think it doesn't do the event justice as we celebrate it here.. I guess it's totally different from everything you know...

Where we live this event is called 'Fastnacht'!
We have processions and celebrations from Thursday to (Ash)Wednesday and people totally go crazy *lol*
There are lots and lots of groups that are participating on the processions.. some of them really have horrible masks and costumes!!! 

The pictures on this layout only show a few of these costumes (and these are the more 'lovely' ones *g*)
During the processions both the costumed groups and the audience is shouting out: 'Narri!' (long 'i'... like you are saying 'eek' ;)) and 'Narro!' (long 'o' like ooooooh)... sounds really funny! ;-)

Heute möchte ich Euch ein Layout über unsere "Karnevals" Traditionen hier im südwestlichen Schwarzwald zeigen. Ich glaube, das wir hier im äußerten südwestlichsten Zipfel Deutschlands (ziemlich ländlicher Raum ;) ) schon sehr urige Traditionen haben und das sich unser "Karneval" auch sehr von dem unterscheidet, was man sonst so kennt.

Hier wird das ganze "Fastnacht" genannt! Und wir haben ziemlich viele Straßenumzüge mit vielen Cliquen, Gruppen und Gugge-Musiken, die fast alle immer komplett (inkl. Maske) kostümiert sind!

Viele dieser Masken und Verkleidungen sehen wirklich zum fürchten aus! 

Auf den Fotos vom Layout sind noch die "netteren" zu sehen.. es gibt echt fiese Gestalten bei diesen Umzügen 

Und anstatt "Helau", "Alaaf" und wie das sonst noch so im Rest Deutschlands heißt, ist der Ausruf hier in der schwäbisch allemannischen Fastnacht "Narri! Narro!" *g* .. hört sich lustig an :) :) :)

I am still trying and I have to learn so much and this 'huge canvas' is fearing me *lol*... but I hope practicing will help me to overcome this fear ;-)

Spellbinders Call Final Round Submission - LO 'Julie'

Hi everyone and happy Sunday :)
Today I want to share another layout with you: the one I made for the final round of Spellbinders' DT call.
The picture and journaling is about our dog 'Julie' relaxing in the garden, eating a chewing bone :-)
Well.. I have to admit, this is not exactly the page I submitted.. the one I sent in was a little bit more 'clean'  ;-) and I added a little bit of color splashes and this and that after I sent in the picture and this is the final result as it went into my album ;) 

The challenge for the final round was to create a layout using:

•  'Holly Motifs' die set (at least one of the dies) without making holiday or christmas themed project (I used the smallest holly die in the set to create the flowers)
•  'Butterflies' Impressabilities (I used it as a mask and sprayed with green glimmer mists on white cardstock; it's the layer under the photo)
• 'Postage Stamp Classic' Edgeabilities - the edger plus one decorative insert (I used it to create the green vertical border on the center piece)
• embossing and stenciling with the dies (which I did in the lower right corner with one of the inserts from the Edgeabilities set)

And even though the layout was not good enough to make the team, I'm happy with how this page came out, anyway :)

Hallo zusammen und einen wunderschönen Sonntag Euch allen :)

Heute möchte ich Euch wieder mal ein LO von mir zeigen und zwar dasjenige Layout, das ich für die letzte Runde im Spellbinders DT Call eingereicht hatte. 
Naja, um ehrlich zu sein, war es nicht genau dieses LO, sondern eine etwas ander Version... das eingereichte LO war doch etwas  mehr "clean" und ich hab's später noch ein wenig mehr aufgehübscht mit der roten Blume, dem roten Stoffband und den Klecksen... naja... jedenfalls ist dass das Endergebnis, wie es nun auch in meinem Album steckt ;)

Die Herausforderung in der letzten Runde bestand darin ein Layout zu erstellen und dabei folgende Dinge zu benutzen: 

• 'Holly Motifs' Stanzen-Set, mindestens eine der Stanzen, ohne etwas weihnachtliches zu machen (ich hab' die kleinste Stanze aus dem Set genommen und daraus die Blümchen gemacht 
•  'Butterflies' Impressabilities (habe ich als eine Art Maske verwendet und ein Stück hellen Cardstock mit grünem Glimmer Mist besprüht - die Lage unter dem Foto) 
• Postage Stamp Classic' Edgeabilities - eine Randstanze und ein Innenteil (hab' daraus die vertikale grüne Bordüre gemacht) 
• Embossing und Stenciling musste mit den Stanzen gezeigt werden (was ich unten rechts in der Ecke mit einem der Edgeabilities Innenteile gemacht habe)
  

Und auch wenn ich es mit diesem Layout nicht ins Team geschafft habe, bin ich mit dieser Page trotzdem zufrieden.. mir gefällt sie :-)

Summertime

Hi everyone and happy Monday :)
Well .. my Monday did not start too good, but well.. life will go on anyway... (maybe I will tell you more about this later this week)

Here's a LO I made after I took a class at '2Frollein' (that's Janna Werner and Felicitas Klink). I so adore their work and it was such great fun to learn from them!

Hier ist ein LO das ich gestaltet habe, nachdem ich bei den '2Frollein' einen Kompakt-Kurs besucht habe. 2Frollein sind Janna Werner und Felicitas Klink (aber das wisst Ihr bestimmt eh schon alle *g*) und ich liebe ihre Arbeiten sehr! Und es hat wirklich einen riesigen Spaß gemacht von ihnen zu lernen!

Our Trip to Roetteln Castle

Hi everyone and happy Thursday :)

Today I want to show you this layout on which I scrapped about our trip to the ruin of Roetteln Castle which is very close (around 10-12 km) to where we live.

I did some distressing, tearing, sewing, layering and even some stamping on this page :)
The title and journaling is German since I did this for my boys and they don't know English yet
The title 'unser ausflug' is German for 'our trip'
and the journaling is just a little something about the wonderful day we had :)

Heute möchte ich Euch ein LO zeigen, in welchem ich Fotos von unserem Ausflug auf die Burgruine Rötteln letzten Oktober verscrappt habe. Die Burgruine steht ganz in der Nähe (ungefähr 10-12km von hier).

Wer mehr über Burg Rötteln erfahren möchte, kann ja mal bei Wikipedia vorbeischauen und nachlesen :)

Ich hab' hier auf der Seite distressed, gerissen, genäht, geschichtet und sogar gestempelt hab' ich :)

Das LO ist im Rahmen einer Liftrunde im Scrapbook Werkstatt Forum entstanden.

Das ist ein kleines aber sehr feines Scrapbooking Forum mit lauter lieben, freundlichen Menschen mit demselben Hobby! Auch Kartenbastler sind dort willkommen (wie man an mir sieht *g*)

LO: Little Rascal

Hi everyone and happy Friday :-)

Yep, you read it right in the title of this post... I've made a paper LO! *bg*

This is one of my creative goals for 2012: Make LOs and more other stuff than only cards.
And so here's my first paper LO for 2012 (my fourth all in all *lol*)


The title on this LO ('Kleiner Schlawiner') is German for 'Little Rascal' ... that's what my son Aaron always was and still is... but in it's best way :-)))

2nd LO ever *phew*

Hi everyone and happy Tuesday :-)

A little 'warning' upfront: I am currently trying to get into scrapbooking... but... mmm... well.... it's a long, hard way *lol* I am trying, experimenting and learning... and here's what I came up with using the current sketch #59 from Sketchabilities provided by Karan Gerber!
(I hope Karan doesn't mind me bungle her wonderful sketch with my amateurish LO ;-))) )

To be honest, I'm kind of happy with the result (for me as an absolute beginner *lol*)! 

Ok ok ok .... I admit I have to practice getting good pictures of this large 12x12 size (that has been the most difficult part on this LO for me *lol*) 
I think the page looks nicer IRL than here on the pictures... also the white strokes are NOT that 'bold' and contrasting!!! They are much more subtle IRL .. just adding a little bit of texture to the page.
As I said before.. I have to practice getting good pictures *sigh*

Anyway... it's a beginner's LO (it's my second traditional LO I ever made)... so please bear with me!
