Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Thursday :-)

*phew*.. it's hot and sunny here.. again. Summer is in full swing and I thought this is the perfect card for this time of the year. It's for the Some Odd Girl challenge where they want to see 'bright and blinding' cards.. well... I think with these colors my card is qualified as an entry for this challenge ;-)

  • coloring medium - Tombow Dual Brush pens, Mondeluz watercolor pencils
  • patterned papers - Sunshiny Day by Karen Lewis

{DT} - Fairy At Sunset

Hi my sweet blogging friends and happy Wednesday :-)

Oh my goodness.. it's sooooo hot over here.. around 35°C (95°F) during the last days (with high humidity) ...*phew*... feels like we are melting away, soon!!!

But anyway.. 'the show must go on' *lol* and here's a card with one of the wonderful and unique stamp images from Jasmine Becket-Griffith available at Crafts and Me! The image I used here on this card is 'Fairy at Sunset' and I think she's super adorable! Love here whirlwind of hair and her dress made from leaves :-)

I put some Stardust Stickles on her wings and took the picture while the glitter glue was still wet.. so the sparkle is more subtle now IRL than it looks here on the photo. Maybe I'll get a chance to take another picture of it... (but can't promise, because my eldest sons are in Rome and they have taken my little digi cam with them. So I only have my Canon 1000D here to take photos and I guess I have to charge the battery first *lol*)

The sentiment is from a last years store stamp set released by Whiff of Joy while I was a guest DT member for them :-)

Now I hope for a little cooling-down today (it looks like a thunderstorm is coming toda) and hope to see you again soon!

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek at my work :-)
And if you would be so generous to leave a comment I would be really happy, because your comments are always very much appreciated! :-)))

card receipe:
  • stamps - 'Fairy at Sunset' by Jasmine Becket-Griffith, sentiment from last years store kit by Whiff of Joy
  • coloring medium - Tombow Dual Brush pens, Mondeluz watercolor pencils, Ranger Stardust Stickles
  • patterned papers - 'In The Garden' by Mari Koegelenberg
  • tools - BigShot
  • other supplies - brown cardstock from stash, Nestabilities classic circle dies, paper flower from Wild Orchid Crafts, pearl pin from Jenni Bowlin, lace + ribbon + foam pads from stash, Tim Holtz distressing tool , Distress inks

Life's Good

Hi everyone and happy Sunday :)

Today is my birthday ... my 39th .... for the 4th time now (shhh.. don't tell someone else ;-) ) and I had a little bit time left over and created this card for the current 'CAS' challenge at The Outlawz (this time it's a receipe challenge)

The patterned paper is from an older series of Dream Street Papers called 'Baylee's Garden' .. and even though it's an old and retired collection, I still love it :)  Stamps are from Whiff of Joy (image and sentiment, both released last year in summer). The image is 'Willow with Coffee 2 Go' and is also available at Crafts and Me here

The image was colored with Tombow Dual Brush pens and Mondeluz watercolor pencils.
Then I cut the lady out and put her on some foam pads for dimension.

I also pierced the patterned paper on the left side (I just pierced on the huge flower's faux stitching.. can you see it? I hope so...) To dress it up a little I also used a button and some bakers twine I found in my stash

Hope you like my little card a bit :)

Featured Sassy Friend :-)

Hi everyone :) I'm so excited to tell you that the sweet Cheryl of Sassy Cheryl's asked me recently to be one of the 'Featured Sassy Friends' on her blog. Thanks Cheryl, that's a great honor for me :)

So I decided to use this cute image of a boy taking care of his friends ('Nature Lover Boy'), because as a mom of four boys I'm always in need of boys Birthday cards.. and I thought this image is just PERFECT :)

My Sweet Friend

Hi everyone and sorry for being such a bad blogger last week. Life is so busy at the moment that I hardly find the time to do something crafty :-( But today is Friday again and time for another Phindys Place Challenge :o) This week we want to see cards/projects for a baby or small child. I used one of Phindys 'Summer Cuties' for my card. This image is called 'Sharing

my sweet (LeLo) friend

here comes my second post for today... to see my first one (a vintage card for a first day at school) please scroll down :)
For this card I stamped the kitty with his little snail friend twice: Once directly onto the card and a second time onto watercolor paper. I colored the second print with Tombows and watercolor pencils, then cut it out and put it on the card using foam tape.

And as I told you some times before in my recent posts, there's a challenge going on at Moxie Fab World regarding different card styles. So I think this one fits for the 'Fun and Cute' style.
You can read all about it HERE

Wish Big with Mo Manning Fairies

Hi everyone :) Here comes my second post for today
I just saw the wonderful stamp images 'little fairies' designed by Mo Manning (Mos Digital Pencil Shop aka Digitalpencil Too) and immediately fell in love with them. So I had to buy me all of these beauties and here's my first card I made using one of them!

And here's a close-up to show you the beauty of the little fairy and all the sparkle around her

Paper Crafts is having a brand new magazine out where everything's about the different styles of card
So ... the new magazine is called 'Card Style'. To 'celebrate' the start of that new magazine, there's a card style challenge hosted at Moxie Fab World. This card -hopefully ;-)- fits for the shabby chic style. You can find all about the challenge HERE

Whiff of Joy: new summer stamps, sale and GDT call

Whiff of Joy has some new and adorable summer stamps and this is a card I made using some of these new images.  I used 'Sailor Willow' and the 'Beach Chair' as well as the starfishes and text from the July Store Kit to create this little beach scenery :) The background papers and the sun are from a digital scrapbooking kit. I cut out the sun trimming closely (*phew*..*lol*). The starfishes are colored, cut out trimming closely and I put two of them onto foam dots to make them pop and give the whole card a little more dimension.

Sweet Hello - Phindys Challenge: Red, White and Blue

Good morning everyone :)
Wow.. it's so super hot over here during the last week or so... it feels like I'm going to melt away *lol*

But anyway.. I sat down on my crafting table and made a card with another image of the super cute 'Summer Cuties' Phindy released recently  :)

And woweee... I hardly can believe it but we are at challenge #12 at Phindys Challenge this week!
In honor of the upcoming 4th of July we want to see RED, WHITE and BLUE on your cards
It does not have to be a holiday card (I did not do one either, because I'm German ;) )

And don't forget to take a look at the other DT members blogs, they do amazing work

Whiff of Joy GDT - Lazy Summer Days

I made this summer card using some of the stamps from the new Whiff of Joy June Stamp Kit called 'Fun in the Sun'.This new kit comes on cling mount in a CD jewel case for easy storage and it's 11 stamps for only 15 Euros! How cool is that?!

I stamped the boy and girl images, colored them and then cut them out trimming closely. I put the girl on pop dots to give the card more depth.. unfortunately you cannot see this very good in this picture.. but it looks really pretty IRL

One Thousand and One Nights

I used the pretty bellydancer image and one of the sentiment stamps from the Whiff of Joy May Store Stamp Kit - Aladin (1001 Nights). These images really are kind of magic.. so many details and so wonderful to color..

To create this card I followed the beautiful sketch from Donalda over at Whiff of Joy Challenges (I rotated the sketch 90° and added a sentiment)

Love Grows Happiness: Whiff of Joy Guest DT call

Katharina, the owner of  Whiff of Joy is having a guest design team call this week and I said to myself: "Have a go!" *grin* So here's my card using the adorable angel Melinda and the colors red and orange (and yellow as my third color)

I colored her wings using Twinklings H2O in heavenly white that gives a nice subtle shimmer, that you unfortunately cannot see in the pictures :o( I also used a bit of Sakura Stardust clear glitter gel pen to highlight portions of the accents on her trousers and on the heart.. just a teeny tiny bit...  looks really pretty in real life ;o)

I used the sketch over at Practical Scrappers as inspiration - a great sketch! - thanks :)
