Imagine Crafts, Authentique and May Arts Blog Hop: Make Some Noise

AP_MayArts_Badge

Welcome to a crafting extravaganza all week featuring myself and other Artists In Residence from IMAGINE Crafts, along with the Design Team Members of Authentique Paper and May Arts Ribbon.

I have used some of the adorable Authentique "Radiant" papers from the 6x6 paper pack, a sticker from the "Radiant Components" sheet, a super pretty floral sheer ribbon and a length of twine in coordinating colors from May Arts!

The inks I have used to stamp the sentiment are a combination of Memento Luxe Marocco and Memento Luxe Lilac Posies. The circles were stamped with Memento Pistachio and Memento Teal Zeal (I first inked the stamp with Pistachio, then added some Teal Zeal, before I stamped it, to get this "personalized" color to match the blue color in the patterned paper).

Here are today’s other featured Artists In Residence projects:

There' more inspiration to be found on the Authentique Paper and May Arts blogs!  Simply visit these blogs to view the projects created by those company's design teams and to view the other prizes available.

Hello, Hello...

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday :)

Today I am sharing a clean and simple (and easy to create) card using stencils and stamps and -of course- some of my beloved Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko inks :)

I actually did this card for a step-by-step blog post on the Imagine Crafts blog in August, but didn't share it here on my personal blog. To make up leeway, here it is :-D

To see how this card was created, please visit the Imagine Crafts Blog, where you can find detailed instructions including pictures of the steps.

Please refer to the grey box below for a list of supplies!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope to see you here on my blog again, soon :)

Hello My Love for CAS(E) this Sketch #90

Hi everyone and happy Friday :)

Two days in a row with a blog post from me? Yes, it's true :-D

I had some time to play around with the new sketch from the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge blog!
I just love the versatility of this sketch - but their sketches *always* are versatile and great to use as a starting point :)

I went a little wild with my card ;-) and instead of making a clean and simple card, I used a lot of patterned papers, inks, stickers and embellishments, today .... and had lots and lots of fun! :-)

Please refer to the grey boxes below this post for step-by-step instructions and a complete list of supplies :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope to see you here on my blog again, soon :)

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: Just Thinking About You

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday :)

Today I am sharing a card made with some of my most favorite supplies: I used stamps from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps' "Beanstalks" set inked up with Memento resp. Memento Luxe inks from IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko.

I did a little bit of masking (die cut a circle from masking tape and affixed it to the lower right of the front panel) and spritzed the white panel with some of the brand new colored texture sprays "irRESISTible" from IMAGINE Crafts. Just love the versatility of this stuff and the awesome colors it comes in...

But what is the loveliest background worth, without an appropriate focal point? ;-)
Therefore I just had to pull out a stamp set from my most favorite stamp company: CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and use it on this card :)

The sentiment was stamped in orange (to create a contrast to all the blues and greens on the card). The foliage was stamped in black, colored with Memento markers and then the right part of it was cut out -trimming closely- to adhere it to the card, allowing it to slightly overlap the white panel).

Please refer to the grey boxes below this post for detailed written step-by-step instructions!

And there is also a VIDEO tutorial available on how I did the masking technique and sprayed the irRESISTibles! Check out my YouTube channel for more video tutorials...

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope to see you here on my blog again, soon :)

  • make 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" top folded card from white cardstock
  • cut 3 3/4" x 5 1/2" panel from white cardstock
  • die cut circle (approx. 2 3/8" diameter) from masking tape
  • affix circle to lower right side of the white panel, allowing the circle to slightly overlap on the right
  • use Craft Mat or an old packaging box to prevent your workspace from getting stained, then spray panel with irRESISTibles in Summer Sky and New Sprout
  • let the texture spray dry thoroughly (or speed up the process by using a heat tool)
  • remove circle from panel
  • stamp sentiment ("Beanstalks" stamp set) with Memento Luxe Morocco into circle
  • stamp foliage ("Beanstalks" stamp set) with Memento Tuxedo Black onto right side of the circle, slightly off the panel)
  • stamp foliage ("Beanstalks" stamp set) again with Memento Tuxedo Black onto a scrap piece of white cardstock, color with Memento Marker in New Sprout and cut out the right part of it -trimming closely (refer to close up picture above)

Thanks So Much - Mixed Media Meets CAS

Hi everyone and happy Monday :)

Today, I am sharing something that is a little bit unusual for me! It's kind of a mixed style, where "Mixed Media" meets "CAS" :)

My starting point was the tag! I was just experimenting with the new and oh so adorable (and literally) irRESISTible Sprays from Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko.

I had so much fun playing around with these acrylic texture sprays and some various inks.
I decided to only use warm colors and therefore I used some Memento Luxe, Memento and Delicata Golden Glitz inks. I also colored the flowers with Memento markers in Dandelion. You may not be able to see it very well here in the pictures, but it looks really pretty IRL :)

BTW: Not sure you have seen it already, but if not, you may want to pop over to the Imagine Crafts Blog, where I shared a step-by-step tutorial with pictures on how to create **this card** using irRESISTibles.
You will also find more inspiration and tutorials over there! So I think it's always worth a visit :)

Ok, but now back to todays card:
When I decided, the tag was finished ... the question was: what to do with it now?

If you know me, I am sure you know I love cards with lots of white space, and so I decided to cut the tag to a smaller size and just mount it onto a white card.

I hope you like it! I sure will be experimenting more with this "mixed style" in future... let's see where it will lead to.... ;-)

Please refer to the grey boxes below this post for step-by-step instructions and a complete list of supplies :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope to see you here on my blog again, soon :)

Thanks For Everything

Hi everyone and happy Monday :)

Today I am sharing a "Thank You" / "Friendship" card with you, that I created for this weeks Clean and Simple Card Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. The challenge this week is to create a clean and simple card with a tag or tab. I decided to go with the tag :)

I don't have tag die, so I just created this one myself by cutting a rectangle from white cardstock and using a regular circle die to create the curve on top of the tag.

As always, you can find the detailed step-by-step instructions and a complete list of supplies below this post in the grey boxes :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope to see you here on my blog again, soon :)

Sylvia xx

    Instructions
  • make 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card base from 4 1/4" x 11" white cardstock and round lower corners
  • cut 2 1/4" x 4 1/4" rectangle from white cardstock, slip upper edge of tag through circle die and run through die cutting machine to create a curve on top of the tag and punch small hole into tag
  • cut 2 1/4" x 1" piece of pink patterned cardstock and adhere to lower part of the tag
  • wrap a pink twine around the tag twice and tie into a bow
  • randomly stamp butterflies ("Butterbows") with Memento Angel Pink onto upper part of tag
  • stamp sentiment parts ("Wallflower") with Memento Gray Flannel onto tag (over butterflies)
  • cut a length of white seam binding (approx. 6") and color with Memento Luxe Lilac Posies by wiping the ink pad over the seam binding
  • allow ink to dry completely and affix to tag
  • mount tag to card base using dimensional foam pads
  • embellish with clear rhinestones
