Big Congrats Birthday Card (AIR Project)

Hi everyone and happy Friday :)

Today I am up with my next project as an "artist in residence" on the IMAGINE Crafts blog!

This time I have used the brand new and oh so luscious Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink!
I am sure most of you know Delicata Golden Glitz inks already and now IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko came out with the silver equivalent! :)

You can find a detailed supply list along with pictured step-by-step instructions on the IMAGINE Crafts blog!

I also want to enter this card into some challenges:
- Seize the Birthday, where they want to see Birthday cards with heart(s)
- Craftyhands Challenge Blog, where they want to see (heat or dry) embossed backgrounds
- Cat at Mod Squad Challenge dares the participants to "go for gold" (or any other metallics)
- Crafty Creations wants us to keep the projects/cards simple

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope to see you here on my blog again, soon :)

Thanks So Much - Mixed Media Meets CAS

Hi everyone and happy Monday :)

Today, I am sharing something that is a little bit unusual for me! It's kind of a mixed style, where "Mixed Media" meets "CAS" :)

My starting point was the tag! I was just experimenting with the new and oh so adorable (and literally) irRESISTible Sprays from Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko.

I had so much fun playing around with these acrylic texture sprays and some various inks.
I decided to only use warm colors and therefore I used some Memento Luxe, Memento and Delicata Golden Glitz inks. I also colored the flowers with Memento markers in Dandelion. You may not be able to see it very well here in the pictures, but it looks really pretty IRL :)

BTW: Not sure you have seen it already, but if not, you may want to pop over to the Imagine Crafts Blog, where I shared a step-by-step tutorial with pictures on how to create **this card** using irRESISTibles.
You will also find more inspiration and tutorials over there! So I think it's always worth a visit :)

Ok, but now back to todays card:
When I decided, the tag was finished ... the question was: what to do with it now?

If you know me, I am sure you know I love cards with lots of white space, and so I decided to cut the tag to a smaller size and just mount it onto a white card.

I hope you like it! I sure will be experimenting more with this "mixed style" in future... let's see where it will lead to.... ;-)

Please refer to the grey boxes below this post for step-by-step instructions and a complete list of supplies :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope to see you here on my blog again, soon :)

Card For a Friend

Hi everyone and happy Sunday :)

Just a quick post today, to share a "Thank You" card for a friend, that was created by following the sketch from this weeks CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge:

I don't know why, but I went a little crazy with rhinestones *lol* ... maybe because it is so grey and ugly outside, that I thought a little *bling* on my card will brighten my day ;-)

Because I embellished the centre of the flower with lots of rhinestones, you may not be aware of the two-tone stamping I did on the flower at first sight. Therefore I thought I'd share a close-up of the flower where you -maybe- can see it. I stamped the flower in Radiant Neon Electric Blue + Electric Geen (see instructions below).

You will find the detailed instructions and a list of supplies below this post in the grey boxes.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope to see you here on my blog again, soon :)

    Instructions
  • make 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" top folded card base from 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white cardstock and round lower corners
  • die cut base and top layer of "Funky Square Tag Fri-Dies" from white cardstock
  • color the tag base with Radiant Neon Electric Green using a Sponge Dauber to apply the ink
  • using a Fantastix Bullet Tip tool to emphasize the edges with Radiant Neon Electric Blue
  • ink flower ("Wonderful Words") with Radiant Neon Electric Blue, then use a sponge dauber to pick up some Radiant Neon Electric Green and sponge it in the centre of the flower stamp
  • stamp two-toned flower on top layer of tag
  • create a sparkly flower centre using blue glitter embellishment and clear rhinestones
  • stamp sentiment ("Wallflower") with Memento London Fog onto card front
  • embellish with clear rhinestones
