Today I am sharing a card with you, that is a little bit unusual for me, because I have colored (*gasp*) two super cute stamped bunnies ;-)

Sending "Pots" of Love

Hi everyone and happy Monday :)

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Mine was lovely with lots of sun and time to relax :-)

Today I want to share an OLC (= one layer card) with you that I made with the stamp sets "In The Garden" and "In The Garden Additions" by SC Designs for Clearly Whimsy Stamps.

I stamped the pot with Memento in "Pottery Clay", and the heart "flowers" with Memento in "Love Letter". I then drew the stems with a Memento Marker in "New Sprout" and stamped the leave with a Memento ink pad in "New Sprout".

The sentiment was inked with Versafine in "Onyx Black" and I stamped it right over the pot :)

The lower right corner of the card was rounded with a "Corner Chomper" tool and to finish the card I put some rhinestones here and there :-)

One Sketch: Two Cards in Two Styles!

The cards I am showing you in this post are both made by following this weeks sketch at Seize the Sketch:

I started an experiment over the weekend: I wanted to create two cards - both with this sketch as a starting point but the results should be totally different in style!

Well, I think I was successful ;-)


The first card is a classy and elegant, yet clean card (despite the many layers) - all white on white with some hints of gold and silver.

Please take my appologies for the picture quality in this first picture! It is so hard to take good pictures of all white cards + silver metallic! It looks super pretty IRL (and I hope you can see the actual gorgeousness of the Delicata silver in the close-up) but like I said.. my photographer qualities aren't good enough to catch the beauty of it in a picture, properly *sigh*

For the second card I just wanted to be more "free" in my creative process and went a little crazy with all kinds of different "mediums", such as inks, pens, Gesso, wood, corrugated cardstock, patterned paper, ribbon, stickers.

Of course, that is not what a real artist would call "Mixed Media", but well....not sure how to name this style. But one thing is for sure: it is not elegant and not clean and simple... so it's different and that's what I wanted to achieve *lol*

Instructions     Card 1 - You Are My Heart and Soul: make a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" top folded card base from 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" white cardstock create "letter press" front by using an embossing folder "inside out" (so the raised parts are showing towards the inside of the card) cut two rectangles from white cardstock: 2 1/8" x 4 1/4" +  4 1/8" x 2 1/4" and spritz them with Pssst! Sheer Shimmer Spritz Gold; also create some random droplets and splotches all over the panels; let dry affix the (vertical) 2 1/8" x 4 1/4" panel to card front die cut small doily from double layered white tissue paper and adhere to card front cut another panel of 4 5/8" x 2 3/4" of white cardstock and adhere to card using dimensional foam tape create a pierced border around the remaining white panel with the gold spritz ( 4 1/8" x 2 1/4") stamp sentiment to the panel using Delicata Silvery Shimmer  adhere gold sequins mount panel to card front using dimensional foam tape     Card 2- You're So Good For My Heart: make a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" top folded card base from 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" white cardstock cut 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of chevron patterned paper and adhere to card front cut 1 3/4" x 4 1/4" piece of orange polka dot paper and create a faux stitching border all around the panel by using a paper piercing tool and a white gel pen; adhere to card front cut 4 5/8" x 3" piece of grey corrugated cardstock and randomly paint with white gesso; let dry and ahere to card front affix round sticker onto corrugated cardstock cut 4" x 2 1/2" piece of checkered paper and create a faux stitching border all around the panel by using a paper piercing tool and a white gel pen distress edges of the panel using an Ink Blusher tool loaded with Memento Cantaloupe ink stamp sentiment with Memento Bamboo Leaves onto panel wrap around a blue crinkled seam binding affix banner sticker right over the seam binding adhere panel to card front color wood veneer hearts using Ink Blushers to apply Memento Summer Sky and Tangelo inks embellish card front with colored hearts

Guest Designer for SCS CAS Challenge: Thank You Card

I am very excited today, because I was asked by the lovely Jen (aka Miss Boo) at Splitcoaststampers to be a guest designer for this weeks "Clean and Simple Cards Challenge".
Well of course I said "yessssssss please" *lol*

The current challenge is a "stair-step sketch" challenge with a given card to use as inspiration. When I began gathering my supplies and started to create, it was NOT my intention to copy the card.... seriously!!!

But in the end... my card was a total CASE of the given card  (see the challenge thread for the inspirational card) .... oh well! *lol*

XOXOXO - Valentine's Card

Hi everyone and happy Saturday :)

Isn't it unbelievable how fast time flies? 
It seems like Christmas was only yesterday but Valentine's Day is next week, already.... oh man.... really?

Well, for my card I have used the lovely, versatile sketch from Joni Andaya for CAS(E) this Sketch! to create ... yep, you already guessed it ;-) ... another Valentine's card.

At first, I planned to put the white panel straight onto the card front (this way, the sketch would have been more obvious), but in the end I decided to put it down at an angle, so the arrows  on the patterned paper in the background have the same direction and "flow" like the heart cut out :)

One Layer Cards

Hi everyone and happy Sunday :)

Today I am sharing not one but two "OLC" (= one layer cards) with you, that I created for the new "One-Layer Simplicity Challenge Blog" :)

Their challenges are not new, but they now have a separate blog for their challenges and the challenges are monthly!

What exactly is an "OLC", you may ask? It is defined as a card made from one piece of cardstock, folded in half to create the card base on no other layers of cardstock! 

Sounds easy? Well... I'd say these are the most difficult cards to create *lol* At least they are for me! 

But hey, why not challenge yourself and try to do an OLC? Just do it and then link it up on their challenge blog. The current challenge is kind of a "anything goes", because they ask the players to "restock their shelves". 

In my case the decision was really easy: I am always in need of Birthday cards! I never have enough!  Don't know why, but for some reason I tend to create cards for any occasion... but seldom for Birthdays ;-) So this challenge was a great impulse for me, to create another Birthday card :)

The second card is a winter "just because" greeting card. You never can have enough "just because" cards to send out to friends, can you? :)

Instructions     "Party On" card: make card base from kraft cardstock (4 1/4" x 11") and round lower corners create stencil by using a scrap piece of cardstock (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") and cut a label "window" in the centre affix this homemade stencil to the front of your card using non-permanent adhesive use a sponge dauber and pick up some Versamagic Cloud White to color the kraft cardstock inside the label "stencil"  create a faux stichted border around the stenciled label using a paper piercing tool and a white gel pen stamp "Keep Calm..." sentiment with Memento Luxe Love Letter to the centre embellish with glitter droplets and clear rhinestones     "Let It Snow" card: make card base from white cardstock ( 4 1/4" x 11") and round lower right corner scribble some color on the upper third of the cardfront with a Memento marker in Summer Sky  use a Memento marker in Bahama Blue to scribble over this - just in the middle section give the whole cardfront 2-3 spritzes of Sheer Shimmer Spritz Frost and let dry stamp snowflake circle sentiment with Memento Nautical Blue embellish with clear rhinestone
